    Much needed explanation of how to practice and make swing changes. At 7:30 - 7:40 you talk about "over time" you will lose your bad swing. About how long might that be and how many good reps would that require?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Před 4 lety

      Hey Bill!
      IT all depends on the FREQUENCY that you do it.
      If you hit balls every single day, 7 days a week. 20 balls with pure focus and excellent feedback.....maybe 3-6 months.
      If you hit balls 2-3 times per week you may still get that time frame.
      Anything less than that is more likely 6-12 months.
      If you're talking about your swing shows up on the course with no effort with new changes....closer to 12 months.
      But you should be moving CLOSER to that and hitting it BETTER along the way if you are doing it right

    The one super useful thing I got out of "The Golfing Machine" was what he said about practicing your swing. Even when you're practicing with a ball you can't be concerned with the direction of the ball or even contact. You are practicing your swing, and the ball is irrelevant at that point. You are only concerned with where the ball goes while you are doing "playing practice" or when you are "playing". The ball flight doesn't matter when you are working on your swing. It made me realize that my swing faults are just compensations that happen while I'm trying to hit the ball.

    This is a great video. Having more instructors provide guidance on how to “learn” is so key. The other advice from Eric from other videos and consistent reinforcement of “exaggeration” and “feel vs real” has helped me tremendously get more confidence in how to learn and change something in my swing. Great stuff, keep it up.

    Love your "two people" videos, Eric - I've found they pack in a huge amount of useful information. I stopped going to the range a few years ago simply because I came to the conclusion I had no idea how to practice efficiently - all I was doing was practising my faults and getting worse. But over the last year or two I have seen the occasional video like this that covers the process of practising and learning. Great stuff.

    Hi Eric, Great video as always.
    Happy New Year and thanks for all the great instruction. I follow each new upload although sometimes I think it is too much info. lol.
    I had a thought about future content. Has anyone ever made a eye-ball
    perspective of what the swing is supposed to look like from the player's
    perspective??? I just thought about it because the view ad address and
    then the takeaway is so angular and golf swing model-esque, if that
    makes sense. Looking at my arms, part of my legs and my hands, I look
    like one of those stick figure animations making a golf swing. It made
    me wonder what exactly should I be seeing. I've heard some teachers say
    the swing path should look a little "outside" to you, but not much
    more. I'm thinking the next big thing might be to put a little camera
    on your face and record what the eye actually sees.
    Just a thought.

    • @CogornoGolf

      Haha thanks! I agree....a lot of videos! I think the best way is to pick 1-3 priorities to focus on with a coach and then just watch the rest for entertainment :)

    My problem is figuring out the "bread" part of the sandwich. The middle bad part is no problem! My issue is fixing a steeper/over the top/arms swing that can result in glancing blows with my irons.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Před 4 lety +1

      Understood Keith.
      Best way to handle this is to find a good coach to see your swing, diagnose main issue and prescribe drill/feel to fix with feedback.
      Find someone good near you or check out cogornogolf.com and I will do it for you.
      Then you have the BREAD and can do this.
