  • This is an educational tutorial on installing the Reduced Recoil, Slide Assist Tuner Kit into an Archon Firearms Type B. This is an easy installation and only takes minutes. One tool is necessary: a 2.5mm hex/allen wrench. The Kit comes with a lighter guide rod, lighter main springs, and lighter striker spring, making manipulating the slide much easier and less felt recoil.

Id love a solid recoil spring with a single spring setup. For the strike one Toni systems makes one for around $30 and springs are another $10.

I've spent a 100+ hrs. sadly on trying to get the right spring to operate in that short distance... so far impossible as they springs always get defeated after a few dozen rds. The Strike One's longer operating distance of.61" is a game changer for solid guide rod and springs. There is a way with a custom spring potentially, a flat spring vs. round wire may add what is needed.

@@rain6firearmsandlifestyle131 I can see that with the requirement of a "fat" guide rod on the Type B's if you wanted a single rate recoil spring. Not going to be simple to throw a flat wire spring on there that can take many thousands of rounds without breaking a sweat. With such an abbreviated recoil system, it's much like the short 3" Officer sized .45 ACP 1911's that come with factory dual recoil spring systems. The main round wire recoil spring is toast and recommended to be changed by the manufacturers in as little as 500 rounds. That tiny round wire spring just cannot survive the punishment; not enough spring coils to to the work and not enough distance to spread the load between them. I can see the a short single rate round wire spring on the Type B just not lasting like you said, I still have your single spring prototype guide rod. A work-around would require a smaller diameter guide rod which could accept a flat wire spring and an adapter bushing/washer similar to the Glock Gen 4 to Gen 3 recoil kits out there. Until then, the DPM system is pretty damn good and works as advertised. My ported Type B from Rain 6 runs like a champ using this system.

Does this kit also work with the Gen1 Type B? I received this kit recently for my Gen2. I love that I have them both. 😎

Nice video, will you guys be getting the DPM recoil reduction kit for Staccato CS? It’s currently only available on DPM site.

If I just purchased a kit from you a few days ago (currently in the mail) - is it this updated version or the original version?

I like your videos, got a gen2 incoming. I had to unfollow your instagram account, the views of whoever posts into the “story” were insufferable. Is that you as well?
