we should also look into how Loblaw treat their suppliers: the charges they are forcing onto their suppliers/ how their suppliers are being bullied but not having the power to fight against them!

Why the same apples from the same supplier cost differently in Lablows and it's own NoFrills?

15%? lol Prices have more than doubled on almost every food item in canada. It's ridiculous really.

No they haven’t. My grocery bill has been within 5 % either way over the last 5 years. Of course I track all my costs and don’t just spew nonsense. Most people don’t have a clue what they spent in a year on anything!

Having a organized boycott can help speed things up but we can still do it on our own. I've been boycotting Sobeys (they are even worse than Loblaw) by myself for a year now and did most of my grocery shopping at local meat and veggie markets as well as dollar store. Now I'm so used to it, adding Loblaw to my boycott list doesn't affect me at all, plus I've also saved up so much by shop locally (they are typically 20%-50% cheaper than those greedy grocery chains). We could all do it, it's not hard. At first it may sound like a big change, but once you make the change and make it your everyday life, you can continue it months after months without feeling any inconvenience. 👍 Also trust me, if we really want to make this boycott work, we need much more than one month.

This has a lot more potential than something like a PETA boycott in my opinion. You aren't spending more money or putting in more effort in order to do something that is more ethical, to boycott loblaws all you need to do at most is drive a bit further and it saves you a ton of money. Even if loblaws was the most charitable company in the world i wouldn't be shopping there right now, I literally pay half what I used to just going to Walmart now.

Loblaws will say the boycott cost them money so they have to raise their prices.

Stop telling other people what to do. If you regularly shop a Loblaws and someone tells you to stop, they are insulting you. They're assuming you're too stupid to know what you can or can not afford, and you need them to decide for you as to where you should spend your money. These idiots are complaining online using their latest $2300.00 iphone or ipad.
