    There was something comforting about listening to Steve late at night. So relaxing.

      @hd-xc2lz Pƙed 2 lety +4

      Agreed. And while I like Sal Licota, his anger schtick would work much much better in the daytime. So replace Moose and Maggie with Sal and CMac, and then WFAN needs to find a younger Steve Somers, a guy who loves NYC sports, while also not taking it so seriously.

    • @Metsfan1986

      @@Metsfan1986 Sort of true, except lately Steve has occupied the evening slot, where he's being replaced by Keith MacPherson, who sounds like a college radio sports host. The latter has only ever recorded podcasts, zero radio host experience... WFAN dreaming it can attract teenagers to terrestrial radio.

      @@hd-xc2lz You're right. Steve has been doing the slot that Keith is going to take over. I'm definitely willing to give Keith a chance.
      The station just doesn't appeal to me much anymore. So I haven't been listening much in the past year or so. Definitely taking a turn for the worst.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the FAN beginning back in 1993 when I began my corporate life as a daily automobile commuter. Imus in the am, Mike & the dawg midday, and usually somers on those late, late night drives. Change is constant and life moves on but I’d love a few hours to go back and listen to that original like up one more time.

    I moved from NY years ago, and I'm not a NY sports fan, but Steve leaving is sad as he was the best of WFAN after Mike & the Dog. God Bless Steve.
