- In memory of Cornelia Frances who played with perfection the formidable, sarcastic, and sometimes evil (but with an emotional side deep deep DEEP down) Morag Bellingham from 1988-2017 in Home and Away.
I can’t believe that it is already more than a year since we lost her. Cornelia was an absolute legend and a huge credit to Australian television. She was never the weakest link but sadly, “goodbye” to her anyway.. 😔
I come back to this every so often. The last bit with Bobbys theme gets me every time. Morag was an amazing character...even when she mellowed in later years. Cornelia is and will always be an icon for Australia. Rest in Peace Corny

I've never really been a big watcher of home and away, i watch it with my grandma during the mid 2000s while growing up because it was/is her favourite show. I only really watched it for Morag and Colleen because they were my favourite characters, mainly Morag though, always thought she was one of the funniest characters due to her sarcasm and her take no shit from anyone attitude. Such a shame Cornelia Frances is no longer with us, i was gutted when i saw she had passed away. Fantastic actress, R.I.P
The bit from "Morag... I hope you find what you looking for." Till the end has me in tears still to this day.

Cornelia you were a wonderful actress and a fantastic person through the young doctors, sons and daughters, home and away and the weakest link aus you entertained and enthralled and you will be very missed dear heart. Please rest in peace and thank you for entertaining us all these years and thank you for the memories, God Bless, xxxxx

Who else but the great Cornelia Frances could play the viciously sarcastic Morag? Something about that slight English twang to her voice just elevated her to a whole other level. Rest in peace, Cornelia.

I have loved Morag from the 1st time she appeared in home and away back in the 1980s and before that as Barbara Hamilton in Sons and Daughters. Such a talented and hilariously funny actress. Rest in peace Cornelia xxxxxx

When my brother and I were drinking coffee at Neutral Bay we saw Morag driving around and around trying to get a park.
Some of facial expressions were incredible as she became more and more incensed with not finding a spot.

No disrespect to Magda Szubanski who now hosts The Weakest Link but no-one hosted it better than Cornelia & only she could say 'Goodbye' like no-one else. She was great in all she did from The Young Doctors to Home & Away but she was nothing like the characters she played. I also enjoyed her in the stage production of Calender Girls many years ago.

This video is fantastic. One of my all time favourite actresses and Morag such an amazing character. For years I have been trying to find someone with the episodes when Alf had his brain tumour and Morag came back. They were some of her finest as really emotional. I was only young and remember them vaguely in my mind. Online it looks to be from around episode 3419 to 3433. The clip you featured here with VJ on her lap with Leah i think was from that storyline. Would love to see this storyline if you have the episodes. I'd also love to see all of her episodes from 2001 onwards if anyone has the bits with Morag in. Not the whole episodes just her storylines. It is a longshot but thought it worth asking. Bet others would enjoy watching as well. So saddened to hear of her passing.

In those scenes Morag was more like Vera "Vinegar Tits" Bennett than Fiona Spence was in Prisoner. Very close yo being the same character. However Morag had a sarcastic streak similar to Coleen "Po Face" Powell who was "The Queen of sarcasm".

She was the worst lawyer of all time how many times did she represent clients of summer bay “pro bono” (of corse) and they all ended up in jail then “new evidence” just happened to land on her desk 6 months later then she’s celebrating that she got you off the hook, except you did serve jail time while you were innocent 😂.
