Perhaps they'll be making a come back with the threat of a cashless society looming :) I quite like 18th century conder tokens. Tokens are a bit like postcards, you can tie them down to specific places and the complexity makes researching them fascinating. I've got a token that was issued by someone down the road from me and I managed to track down his grave stone. I enjoyed doing the video even if it didn't get many views. The 1600's tokens are a bit of a challenge though with all the crazy ways they spelt things and the crude hammered production doesn't help legibility much :D I've got a US Civil War token and one of those Anglesey ones and some Irish gun money. Asylums and work houses issued tokens and Spence political tokens are interesting and quite inspirational.

Nice one, thanks for that info. I've got a few examples but not many, sounds like you're a bit of a token collector as well as postcards. That was amazing that you managed to track down the grave stone of that guy.

@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 I'd probably collect tokens more seriously if I wasn't collecting postcards. I've got a friend who's a coin dealer and I cherry picked a couple of his obscure tokens when they turned up.
