This video is very useful. wish me luck for tomorrow. all the best for me. T_T
omg how'd you do?
I am a freshman and so far I have 3 classes and 12 credits because I didnât know what to do but so far I got A and a C my third class turns out to not count towards gpa and itâs an English class and Iâm freaking out because I think I wonât be able to get into a good dental school and Iâm taking science classes next semester did I mess up or not
jasonx391 donât over freak out about dental school. Itâs a holistic experience. They arenât going to not accept you because of one bad grade. They look at everything on your application and decide if you have what it takes to push yourself to learn and expand your knowledge of dentistry and apply that to working in the real world.
Hi Pat, would you say access to care is mostly related to frail elderly people?
If it affects them it's because they are isolated and probably don't have a means to travel to go see the dentist. Also a lot of them are on a fixed income check and don't have the money to afford care.
Unrelated to this vid but Iâd like to know how long I should shadow a dentist for? Would 2 months be ok?
Yeah. That should be fine. Trying shadowing multiple dentists so you get different perspectives
Do u have an ideas of the perfect answers to these questions?
Would dental hygienist degree help get accepted into dental school? If I'm 46 years old by the time I receive my bachelor's degree, what's your humble opinion, am I too old to become a dentist based off of student loan debt at around 300- 500 k? Any advice to stand out among other applicants, like EMT volunteer or a master's degree , extra shadowing hours, molding class, leadership seminars etc etc....Thanks for any advice.....Would you become a dentist at around 49 years of age?
Fuck no
Nothing personal, love your videos but yes I am an antidentite (Seinfeld) lol. I am in process of making a upper set of dentures and was wondering if you could go into any detail on how a $50,000 dollar set of dentures are priced. I hear better materials a little bit of titanium but were talking grams of materials. Implants, denture mounting studs, why it costs $150 to pull a molar out but thousands to drill a hole and screw in a stud? These aren't gold diamond encrusted dentures, just porcelain and/or acrylic with a thin titanium support molded inside.
QQTrick1QQ most dentures are meant to last from 5 to 10 years. If you want to upgrade to better materials, itâs a complexity of specialties. Oral surgeons have more education and theyâve paid for more education so they can specialize on working in your mouth. Therefore, they have higher fees (which implants would be placed, most likely, by a specialist or a general dentist certified in implant placement). Implants are not just an overnight process like making regular dentures could be. Implants sometimes require additional non grafting to be added, and it takes months and months to heal. It takes a lot of doctorâs times, which is very valuable. Not all dentures are $50,000. Usually, the price youâre paying is a mark up because itâs luxury. Insurances sometimes wonât pay for things like that because a $1,500 set of dentures will suffice and do the same job as a $50,000 set of dentures. Sometimes dentists have to charge a lot of procedures because the materials themselves are expensive. Itâs a very complex web of things that go into determining prices for things like that.
QQTrick1QQ itâs also important to remember, this isnât just a screw you can go get in your toolbox in the garage. Iâve noticed people seem to really belittle dental procedures because they think they have a basic understanding of what it is. Itâs not a simple procedure, itâs not something from your toolbox in the garage, itâs just just removing a tooth, itâs not just a cleaning, itâs not just putting in a screw or stud. If you think about it this way, dentures are supposed to last from 5 to 10 years but some people over use their dentures until their bone shrinks and they dentures no longer fits, but they are unaware. Fixed dentures may not need to be replaced as often. Plus, they are a luxury in the sense that they are sometimes more asthetically pleasing and they feel more natural and you take care of them like real teeth.
Im a 3 year dental assistant and only 2 years in my bachelors. Will the dental assistant experience give me a boost to enter dental school?
Nope
Skill wise yes, but schools look at DAT and academics.
100
Will shaking teeth heals ?
