    Love these videos man! They've really helped out a lot, if I could make a suggestion for another video I'd say a guide on how to manage the Chaos on the different difficulties would be so helpful. Keep up the great work! :D

      Good to hear that you enjoy these videos and they really help you out. Hmmm, that's an interesting idea for a video. I don't want to disclose one of my future video ideas but I think I put the Chaos management into the video. I'll have to think about that some more.

    Taunt to me is more of a back up plan/safety net, It's definitely not a 'great' skill/strategy to go for but sometimes it's exactly what you need.
    I've had runs where I just am unable to kill things fast enough because bad loot spawns/drops and rapidly scaling enemies. Taunt has been able to carry me through those weapon droughts by reducing most enemy hits to 0-5 damage.
    Guns are interesting... they're almost designed to just be Focused on because of how few skill checks they require to successfully fire. It ends up being better to stack Attack Damage and substitute Accuracy with Focus Points, allowing the character to easily delete an enemy or two on the first turn by using only 1-2 focus. I love them.
    The two main issues with guns are Reloading and the fact that they're competing with Strength weapons.... I'm looking at you Iron Anchor.

    • @prodphet
      @prodphet  Před 2 lety

      Rapidly scaling enemies is typically due to poor pathing during the 15 round town refresh and not unlocking most of the camps and mini dungeons. I rarely if ever fight enemies on the over world in Act 2.
      Guns can be interesting but typically for a short time. The burst is nice for a quick first shot kill but typically you’ll find an 18-20 damage weapon compared to a 24 gun, and it’s just not worth it anymore

      I would enjoy seeing some info on other campaigns- I haven't even ventured to them. Perhaps a whole short video on unlocking the gladiator would be cool! I also think it would fun for the three of you to play some strange/noneffecient team comps in masters and see how you fare with it.

    I’m loving getting into for the king right now coming from dnd, a lot of the ideas from high optimization dnd is in this game, like if you waste your action healing, your not killing things, and initiative is so valuable and makes your life so much easier (yes I know that for the king has obvious inspiration but still)
    On the topic of this AOE reminds me of pass without trace (for suprise) in dnd, on a low optimization party it’s nice and fun and can make them even a somewhat viable team... but there are definite better options, but with a strong party, it’s invaluable making your wizards web even stronger than it already is, aoe like pass without trace is a force multiplier and I love it for that

    • @prodphet
      @prodphet  Před rokem

      Ultimately the simplistic way of looking at this game weapon wise…do lots of damage or manipulate time line. Those are the weapons you mainly look for

  • @nicholasleung5669
    @nicholasleung5669 Před 3 lety +1

    Great content, keep it coming! One thing about the guns -- it's not as straightforward as taking the damage and dividing it by two for a couple of reasons:
    1. Guns often have splash or AOE (which is valued highly by you all)
    2. Dealing more damage upfront means you might kill and enemy or two that you might not have been able to kill with a normal weapon, which means you take less damage
    A use case could be if you don't find good intelligence weapons early -- you can put a gun on your scholar that has refocus, which would make that character a lot stronger for a while until you find a good upgrade.

    • @prodphet
      @prodphet  Před 3 lety

      Thanks and we are keeping them coming. I completely understand it’s not straightforward (and you clearly understand the game at a high level) but I was trying to make a quick point without spending 30 minutes on hypotheticals. In reality, I see people select a 24 damage gun vs a 18-20 damage weapon and that’s when it’s a NO. It’s so rare to get a double damage gun. You make a great point about quick kills but again, you have to really know all the enemies in the game to know when the gun is best and that takes a crap ton of experience. In regards to your intel gun choice early, it feels like you stole one of our weapon highlights for the next video. You’ll see what I mean in part 2. Thanks for the great insight!

      @photographyraptor Před 3 lety

      @@prodphet ahhhh a whole week!?! Jk can't wait. Also, random question, does this info all apply the same for the other game modes than for the king? Do you guys only play for the king?

    • @prodphet
      @prodphet  Před 3 lety +2

      I have beaten each game mode on Masters and so has Sheldon and Mike. The abilities generally are applied across all game modes the same. With that said (and I don’t want to spoil anything), the Frost Mode for example, has the potential to get very high powered weapons that allow for you to spend a lot of Focus and therefore restore focus can be huge. On top of that, it’s very hard to get Rush and Reset weapons…but if you could get those weapons, that still would be the best strategy. So, our video still is accurate across all game modes but you just may not be able to access those abilities easily…so you would just move down the list. Does that make sense?

    Only thing I'd change is I probably wouldn't have evade down super low, but I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of a VERY niche thing which is that DLC weapon that has evade down based into it. Stupid fuckin niche use in general, but it is impeccable for those stupid perfect enemies. That's about it lol. I'd honestly put it over ignite, if anything. It takes so long until it scales up to be worth it for you. I probably would have wet w/dmg at bottom of yellow, because it's great for tagging an enemy with a bunch of resistances (that thankfully doesn't include wet) specifically that early on Angler Bow I believe and a couple others, are nice early to strip->add effect-> come back to/leave. I think everything but rush is somehow or another niche uses. Like for me, splash isn't worth it, unless it is direct AOE (for newcomers, splash≠AOE. AOE is a guarantee to hit all no matter what; provided you don't roll all X's ofc. Most often available with intelligence weapons. Some bows have AOE attacks as well. Even if missing middle man. Splash is hitting a target and an adjacent takes less damage (directly half) and yes it scales on some scenarios) are often not worth it, if it won't splash without perfect.

      Lmao me pausing the video to explain to newbies who come across this and you already say it 20 seconds after I hit play again 😂😂

    • @prodphet
      @prodphet  Před rokem

      The evade down though is kinda pointless if you just use focus anyway. They can’t evade on a perfect role

    • @blazeking5778
      @blazeking5778 Před rokem

      @@prodphet I wish, I run with spirited people. I find it worth it normally, because using a focus on that instead (normally on my speed character) saves everyone else from it and they still have a chance to hit on a non perfect roll.
      Edit: again, I will admit it's again very niche, so I maybe I should think of it as a "nice to have" type of category if it happens to be on your weapon. I believe it's only one weapon with it on the basic attack. Can't remember the name ATM but definitely one of the Gladiator/strength based weapons.
      Double edit: it's the Sais I just picked up lol. This is why I definitely agree with you on the Gladiator being SO overpowered. Gotta be the best all around class.
