  • A retaining wall can dramatically change the shape, function, and feel of your yard. Our customer located in Milwaukee, WI had a very steep unusable backyard. The only approach was to install a large wall and create a level backyard. The wall was constructed using Keystone retaining wall blocks that weigh over 100 pounds a piece and the wall was reinforced with multiple layers of geo-grid to add additional strength. Once the wall was up, we repaired all of the lawn in front and behind the wall and installed a decorative stone border along the top of the wall. In all, the wall was over 100 feet long, 7 feet high and took 10 full days!
Special thanks to the crew for working so hard and a job well done!

Looks good! Would it have been possible to extend this retaining wall out further? How much does a project like this typically cost?

Thanks! Yes the wall could be extended out further but there was restrictions with the HOA and property lines. This project cost over $45,000 to complete.

I thought this kind of wall, that act with gravity and block locking, should not go over 6 lines ??

With this wall, we added additional strength by installing layers of geo-grid into the slope. This is typical of walls this size as a gravity only wall will not be strong enough.

@@mariogatica2363 When Yu look at the specs, or your specific blocks, there will be a maximum stacking height. They tell You that If You want to go higher, the wall must be engineered.
