The Evangelical Omerta Code | Steve Baughman on Ravi Zacharias | Ex-Christian Show - Esther Dhanraj

  • He who is deaf, blind and silent will live,” says the Omerta Code of the underworld. But one would expect the evangelical world to be different, given the claim that they operate under the guidance and counsel of the Holy Spirit. The big question that remains unanswered is why are the others who are supposedly led by the Holy Spirit silent when one of their own has purportedly “fallen from grace?” Has the counsel of their deity fallen short?
    In this video, Steve exposes the unspoken code of silence that the evangelical community maintained to this day. It is only very recently that a couple of evangelical organizations came out to speak against the misdemeanour of Ravi Zacharias. Until the whistle blower, Steve Baughman ran his exclusive investigative stories with compelling, unfalsifiable evidence proving the conmanship and immorality of Ravi, there was absolutely no word from fellow apologists and evangelicals condemning Ravi’s behaviour. On the contrary they continued to partner with him in Christian events till the end of his life. That goes to show that if someone like Steve did not take it upon himself to go against the tide, garnering hate and immense criticism from lay Christians around the world, to expose America’s favorite apologist, Ravi would have gone unreported and the scam could have continued on into another generation.
    Through videos like this it is our effort to wake up gullible lay Christians to the fact that humans will just be humans regardless of their belief systems. All the claims of a certain spirit working in preventing Christians from faltering are just that - claims. It is our effort to drive home the point that being good or bad is totally in the capacity of a human and not outside of him, in the control of any spirit - either holy or evil.

    I'm a Christian. You gave a valuable perspective. I am devastated by learning of Ravis deception, but my faith in Jesus is solid, and I'm not an emotional person. It is refreshing to hear a conversation from the "outside". I have had reservations about contemporary evangelical organizations for a long time, especially publishing houses and the way they "sell" God. None of this takes God by surprise however, and we will wait to see how the dust settles. God is cleaning, pruning, restoring and tearing down. It's painful but necessary. If the church had been willing to judge herself, we wouldnt have needed the secular world to expose the sin.

    The falling away of the messenger does not invalidate the message. How many atheists have come to Christ and vice versa. This offense, unfortunately is the perfect armour piercing ammunition for the atheist... yes we were betrayed and I denounce the organization for claiming they didn't know. It so good to hear your illustration about your physics professor, it was awesome to hear your concerns about people's faith, however you are exactly right, people who lost faith were focused on the man not Christ. Yes it is a teaching opportunity and should be used as such moreover in our own Christian community.

    He foresaw an immensely gainful career. Started out and ended up with very little belief. Sensed early that he did not have to stake much faith and toil in the enterprise of persuading the credulous : When he had charm and the ability to fictionalize. There was always a little risk when the inventions were on his life's events.

    You have done a wonderful job in exposing a “ Pious Fraud” like Ravi Zacharius.. Steve made an interesting point about the spread of Institutionalised Christianity through the use of canons and battle ships. Wish you would make a series of videos focusing on this aspect of Christianity.👍

    I disagree with the comment by Esther. Jesus' blood and message are all powerful. The devil attacks Christianity because its the truth. He does not care about other religions. And other religions are so defensive and do not allow as much scrutiny as Christianity.
    Jesus was perfect. His blood paid fully for the sins of the world.

    I am a Christian! I gave your video a thumb. The Thumb is mainly for Steve!
    By the way, outside the English world, RZ is almost not known. I know about him, because I have been living a while in the English speaking world.
    My experience. When I first heard about the controversy about RZ and the Thompsons (2017), I didn't believe it. I had seen that against genuine Christians, who are standing in the public, fake stories were created and set into the world. I took it as something like this. But strangely something in myself made me watch full. I just didn't like to listen to Ravi anymore. Always the Thompson story popped up in my head, when I did. I scolded myself for that!
    Then I heard about Ravy's death. Wanting to watch his funeral, I found the scandal! This time I knew that it was true!
    It did not shake my faith, but it made me sad and angry! I cannot understand, that that man could live such a dopple life! Did he not believe what he preached? Didn't he think of the consequences for the people he preached to? For his family? For his co-workers? He did not!
    I watched the video of his last words. It seems to me, he was thinking, that he would get well again. He was not thinking of dying. That reminds me of the parable of the rich farmer. (Luke 12:21) We are looking at the life of a man who was not living in self denial, but in self deception! The essence of his life is a lot of damage! Jesus said: "On their fruits you shall know them." and "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." :-(

    Its very simple reason why people still have respect for Ravi Zacharias is because most people dont believe that he had and sexual escapades, they will think its made up to discredit him and tarnish his name, in reality these people abuse their power.

    • @solelysoul8543
      @solelysoul8543 Před 3 lety +1

      Its normal for an individual to indulge in sexual escapades. And, even normal to try and conceal it.
      The point is, Ravi was a normal human being. And his admirers consider him to be some sort of a saint.
      Just because he was a scholar of the Bible, the Christians forget the biblical message about the devil quoting the scriptures.

    Esther Ji... You are doing an awesome job exposing people like Ravi... I wish someone digs and exposes Dinesh D'Souza. I am not a leftist and I still don't like Dinesh as he is a Christian fanatic and not a defender of the right... I respect people like Jordan Peterson who is honest about Christianity and Abrahamic religions to some extent at least... Dinesh would have a lot of skeletons in his closet....

      Dinesh himself exposed one of his skeletons already: he wrote a very racist book, as per African Americans who took note of his racism.
      Jordan Peterson is a Christian and credits Christianity for Western Civilisation, he was also always trouncing on Hinduism as what causes India's suffering. This was all in the sole interview I saw with Peterson (interviewer was a lady, in case that helps others locate the video).

    It is shameful Ravi lied about who he was & what he did or didn't do. Esther said the Christian message is so weak, it must be supported by lies. The message is not weak at all Esther, the bearer of the message very likely is. God can use any man or woman to spread the Good News, the message of God's love & sacrifice on the cross. No other religion offers that kind of message. I hope one day you will become a Christian or a Christian again if you have misunderstood & distrust the Lover & Savior of our souls. For you too Steve, I pray one day you will return to the straight & narrow. Thank you for the video. I pray Ravi's widow, children & grandchildren are kept safe from all these stones people throw at their Ravi's memory. God in His perfect will has allowed everything to happen in His time & His way to bring many to repentance. The sin of another is for us to learn from, not to follow and not to throw stones. For we are all sinners too. 🙏🏽❤️

    2. Catholicsm is a religion not pursuing a relationship with Jesus. Catholics aren't Christians.

    I think Steve Baughman is wasting his time talking about a man who is already dead. This itself is immoral. Your time can be spent better. There are rogues in every religion and in every Faith. I remember a quotation from the Bible which says, He who has no sin let him throw the first stone. This applies to all of us.

    • @estherdhanraj911
      @estherdhanraj911 Před 3 lety +8

      It would be a waste of time if ppl like Steve continued to speak about RZ after RZIM has closed shop. RZ continues to live in the manner in which his organization continues to earn funds from gullible ppl who still trust him. It would be unethical (not immoral) of Steve if he had slyly waited for RZ to pass away and then had brought this out, so as to escape defense from RZ. Steve left no stone unturned to confront RZ while he was still alive. But RZ or his org used all their human power to avoid confrontations of any sort. Even went to the extent of threatening and silencing ppl that they thought would damage their reputation. If RZ himself had believed in all the "holier than thou" sermons he blurted at the podiums of the Christian events around the world to the end of his life, the least he could have done, when news about his conmanship and immorality broke out, was to respectfully step down from the leadership position, on his own volition, and retire from playing apologetics - apologetics. He did not even have to apologize publicly. He should have kept it between himself and the god he claimed to have believed in.... kept it between himself and the ppl that trusted him with their money and faith. By not doing that, RZ not only showed that he did not care about the ppl that funded his projects, but he also made a joke of the faith he professed (or just pretended) all his life, and also took for granted the deity behind that faith. He lacked integrity even a "mustard size" and continued to live his double life until the end. He just couldn't give up the fame and the wealth. You are right, may he who has no sin, cast the first stone. Apply it to RZ and it reads like this: may he who has no immorality in himself give 'holier than thou' sermons. I remember a saying we were taught in moral science class in elementary school. And it did not take a religious scripture for it to make sense. It says: "Preach not what you can't practice." Said another way, it reads: "Practice all that you preach," or "preach only what you can practice." RZ, by your own definition had no right to talk about spiritual matters (his spirit was long dead before his body died). His death at this point is extremely sad. He should have lived a little longer. That was the only way the victims of his hypocrisy (the ppl that trust/ed him) would have found closure to their feeling of being taken for a ride.

      What rubbish! If that is the case I think we should stop talking about Jesus and Hitler. Is it immoral to be critical of Hitler? Or is it just immoral to talk about certain people. This guy dead or not is a public figure and he should be exposed. The same goes for charlatans of any religion. The difference is that Ravi Zacharias is an evangelical who peddled his religion to the gullible and turns out to be a fraud. He exposes the corrupt underbelly of christian evangelism which is a billion dollar industry. The lesson to take away from here is christians should stop supporting evangelists and their proselytizing.

    • @user-fv8uq4cr9i
      @user-fv8uq4cr9i Před 3 lety +11

      @Shepherd No, what is immoral is not letting the people who are still buying Zacharias' books (I think Mr Steve Baughman said this was 40 million dollar industry still) and following his industry know about his molestation of women. I think people buying his books wouldn't appreciate knowing they were imbibing lessons on Christianity from someone they would regard a serious sinner. On the other hand, the Bible features cases of sexual impropriety committed by positively viewed main characters, so maybe they won't avoid Zacharias on that account. But most important is that future gullible Hindus who are being evangelised might hear alarm bells ringing if anyone offered them content from Zacharias to win them over. So Mr Baughman work and Smt Esther Dhanraj's interview of him to let her audience hear of it is very commendable.
