Ive drove the golf r and tig r back to back today… after owning every “ performance “ mk of golf over the years besides the mk1 gti I switched to a tiguan 162 last year . You could argue im getting old which is true but I found the Tig R a better all round package and did everything better then the Golf R doing the things that it will spend most of its life doing. Sure the Golf R on the limit is on another level but unless you’re on a track day the Tig is a better all round package. I did put my money where my mouth is and expecting delivery in November ;)

This is so obsolete. Lovely Americans. 2 Liter engines can push out force, that 3+ liters could only do. Look at the a45s. Nowadays you have to compromise a little sound, but that's not only because of the 4 cyls. It's because of regulations in Europe. I love the old 4 or 5 liters.. But it's Mechanic is obsolete. Bad for enviorment, gas mileage,..
Another argument: it breaks. No. That's because you are not required by law to maintain it like in Europe and your mechanics have often no clue about modern engines and the higher tech behind it. It's completely diffrent in Europe. I had a 4 Liter amg e class.. And now a 2liter cla shooting break. Never had any issues.. Only standard maintance. If I drove with a Ford 100k miles or a cla, I see that the building quality is way higher and the parts like the adaptive shock absorbers are ok even then.. With the focus or Fiesta there is no chance you get that far without changing some parts. We drive much faster.. We have all 4 seasons. Salty roads.. Etc.. If you know how to maintain you have real quality. Even at lower price classes like the standard a class. America has also great cars. Don't get me wrong. I only wanted to show you that we are required by law to check the car by a govt. Checked workplace and they are really, really strikt. Even a little rust, you have to change things. Safety is the most important thing here. And: you can't change it yby yourself or in a garage at your friends house.. Even tuning is forbidden for most parts or you have to get it checked and pay more insurance or taxes for every horsepower more! So.. Im done now. Thank you for your time.

@@michaelk1051 well I paid 20k more when I ordered it last year. If it’s 120k then it’s still arguably better value $10k for the badge/build quality and $30k for that 5 pot and sound? They have exact same wheelbase so if you get the Rsq3 SUV version you lose minimal rear headroom and maybe a tad rear leg room

@@nickng5857 way too small inside compared to a Tiguan. Rear leg room horrendous, Boot size 512L vs 615L in the Tig. Was a no brainer. 10k of mods and you'll be saying hello to the tigs tail lights while i'm on the way to the airport on a month holiday with the extra 30k :P but enjoy your RSQ3

@@JLM85_ yea and wave good bye to your 5 year warranty lol. Mods for mods the ea855 blows the ea888 away for ease of gains power limit and sound. I’m only ever gonna put my kids in the back so a tad less space don’t mean anything. Build quality wise if you compared the two the Audi would be better for sure and Tiguan is still on last Gen interior. I’d take the sexier couple styling for the Sportback over 100L of extra boot space. Not saying it’s not a good car and enjoy it by all means but the Rsq3 isn’t sold out for over a year for no reason.
