    I only discovered Obsidian a couple of weeks ago, and combined with the Excalidraw plug-in it has completely transformed the way I consume and produce content and ideas. I feel supercharged with creative energy and this suite just keeps getting sweeter!

    From a UX perspective there are a lot of scripts clustered together in the tool panel. There are a number of different ways to do it. Perhaps some metadata or a palette list similar to the color palette or some way to create labeled groupings. Groupings of scripts might be "arrangement", "alignment", "styles" etc. Might be a way to extend the menus with scripts rather than have the scripts all in one pile. Some other idea might even be better. Thanks, excalidraw is getting better with each update.

    It will be great if you could someway make a responsive select color in excalidraw like when you hold ctrl + shift + I in Obsidian and there you can select the color of something touching the parameters you want only with the cursos. Thanks Zsolt

      Yes, the UI is not yet perfect. But there is some support for this already. There are keyboard shortcuts for the top 3 rows of colors + the most recent 5 colors from the scene. When the element is active press "s" for stroke color, and then 1,2,3,4,5; q,w,e,r,t; a,s,d,f,g; and z,x,c,v,b,n for the custom colors from the scene.

    I have just discovered Obsidian and Excalidraw three days ago and apart from some minor issues, it is really really nice for taking notes / creating drafts of technical LaTeX documents.
    Just one thing that really bugs me on the Linux version: Ctrl + C ist not working for me. Since Ctrl + X and Ctrl + V are working, this should be a minor problem to fix. Thanks a ton for the work!

    Really great. Eager to try them. The command pallette looks really great. Short time ago the obsidian update, now a renewed Excalidraw. After the Obsidian update my Excalidraw drawings that were not working before, are now magically working nice and smoothly again. Though you know I am the man for complicated problems. One question outside the Excaldraw topic: as you might remember I use Samsung S4 Tablet with an external bluetooth tablet. When I write inside the Obsidian editor, then for some words the backspace button deletes backwards. For example, if I write the word "plugins" and press backspace, then the s is deleted, then the n and the suddenly I can write again, but never finish this word. And sometimes it is not deleting the last characters, but the cursor suddenly jumps back to the beginning of the word, I just have written. There are also other words making such a mess. In other apps the writing behavior is normal. And I can normally write inside the Excalidraw Plugin and Kanban Plugin. I changed many settings and even reinstalled Obsidian, but no progress. Any suggestions what I can change to make it better? Or is it probably a bug in the new Obsidian release and I must wait that somebody like you repairs it? Firstly, thanks a lot again for the new release of the Excalidraw version.

      Some plugins add editor support like the Templater plugin, and also Excalidraw. In case of Excalidraw, if you type “ea.” or “excalidraw-“ or “utils.” in the markdown editor, then the Excalidraw field suggester is triggered. You can disable the field suggester in plugin settings: Turn off “Enable field suggestor” under Experimental Settings. As you write, this only happens with certain words, and only in markdown editor… I could imagine such a field suggester feature could cause the issue explained.

    • @hansimeier6587
      @hansimeier6587 Před 2 lety +1

      @@VisualPKM What you are saying sounds more than reasonable. Do I understand right that field suggester is in the setting of one of my many plugins? Or is it in the settings of Obsidian? The field suggestor works in my editor. But I also went in safe mode to turn off all plugins and the strange behavior remained. But anyway, your hint is the hottest cue I got so far. Will experiment with this.

    • @VisualPKM
      @VisualPKM  Před 2 lety +1

      @@hansimeier6587 To be absolutely sure this is not caused by a plugin, I suggest restarting Obsidian after turning off all the plugins - this is to avoid any event handlers that plugins might forget to turn off. Suggester could be one such event handler.
      Another potential reason could be if you have a Text Expander installed on your device (independent of Obsidian)

      @@VisualPKM @Zsolt's Visual Personal Knowledge Management Through the new features the comfort of working on mobile with the Excalidraw Plugin increased enormously. Now I can be mobile, lie in bed or at nearly any other place and can draw with all the possibilities Excalidraw offers.
      Unfortunately, I still cannot use my texteditor in Obsidian because of the beforementioned problems. I deleted some plugins like Text expand and templater, I turned off all plugins, closed Obsidian, optimized tablet and cleaned working memory, and restarted the tablet. But the strange behavior still remained the same. As I mentioned before, even reinstallation of Obsidian didn't change anything. Is there probably a kind of config file or something similiar that I have to delete, too. On my S8+ Smart phone with the same keyboard everything works nice, though the plugins I have installed there are somewhat different.
      By the way, I am very, very sure that the Excalidraw plugin doesn't have anything to do with this "misbehavior". It is limited to the writing editor. Excalidraw works better than ever and I can use the keyboard in it. I also found the suggestor function, but turning it off didn't change anything.
      Thank you for your very helpful suggestions anyway.

      You cannot, unless you have a keyboard. You can however select the element that has the link that you want to open and use the link icon in the top right of the Obsidian pane (next to the options menu) to open links.

    May I ask what the grid unit is for say 20, 50, etc.? I understand that they can be viewed as relative but sometimes one may need absolute values, for example when putting an A4-sized frame into Excalidraw for previewing.
    Also I think it'd be great to have two macros (or scripts) to +/- the grid size by 10. So when I press the Grid+ button 3 times, I could get from 20 to 50. Or maybe multiply/divide buttons to go from 100 -> 200 -> 400 -> etc.. This way we could stay in the main window and don't need to enter an input value as for Set Grid. Hopefully that makes sense!

    • @VisualPKM
      @VisualPKM  Před 2 lety +1

      Excellent questions. The grid is in canvas points, which depending on the zoom level will translate to different pixel distance. At 100% canvas points are equal to pixels. i.e. if you create an object of 100x100 that will be exported at a pixel size of 100x100 when you export to SVG for example.
      I like your script idea of the +/- grid scale buttons.

    • @owlmega-101
      @owlmega-101 Před 2 lety

      Thank you for expaining. After some research, I think I'd stick to A4 @ 300 DPI = 2480*3508, which gives higher resolution.
      By the way, it looks like the grid size scales with zoom level. So I think the number (e.g. 20) will always equal pixels regardless of the zoom level, doesn't it?

      You want to open the tools panel with a hotkey? or you want to execute a command with a hotkey?

    Hello, the export of links doesn't seem to work. Is there a trick i missed ? Thank you

    • @VisualPKM
      @VisualPKM  Před 2 lety

      1) It only works when you export to SVG.
      2) Inside Obsidian the SVG image map will not work due to the way Obsidian handles images. Try to open the exported SVG from your file system with your default SVG viewer (likely your browser).
      3) Links on object are only active on non-transparent areas. i.e. if you have a box that is filled with color, the entire box will be active as a link. If the box is filled "transparent" then only the border of the box will be active as a link.
