      You need to learn the basics like measuring (makes a big difference if unfamiliar which is how I started), there’s also tips and tricks like referential measuring you’ll learn as you go and YT happens to have a wealth of knowledge on this subject (I always recommend Fix This Build That, Micheal Alm, Bourbon Moth, April Wilkerson and 3x3 Custom are just a few of excellently skilled woodworkers who’ll teach you the basics to more complex joinery) you’ll need basic tools (I’d recommend a table saw as it’s so versatile so long as you have someone skilled to teach you how to use one safely or can follow along on YT like I did) or a circular saw but that requires skills too, and how to build basic boxes. Essentially that’s cabinet building, making boxes! MMA Woodworks also gives excellent how to videos on this subject. I’d also recommend a pocket hole jig for starting out and plenty of clamps as pocket holes are a pain to align while screwing parts together or use simple butt joints. Some places like Home Depot will cut down larger sheets of plywood to get you started. Pallets are ok but take a lot of patience and work to de-nail and clean up plus often thicknesses aren’t reliable so start with cheap 2x4’s and plywood or pine or spruce boards but definitely give it a good try and do your research

    I've used pocket holes before but have switched to biscuit joints. The machine is cheaper in the long run and it's so much stronger! Great job none the less, I'm jealous!

    • @scuba130
      @scuba130 Před 11 měsíci +5

      definitely not stronger then pocket holes, but would cleaner on the back side of the doors. Biscuits are good for face frames and lining two pieces of wood together, but doesn't have any structural Strength.

      @@scuba130 Interesting. I kind of agree and disagree, but will definitely consider it.

      To be honest when you use glue, the pocket hole or biscuit will always be weaker than the glue. I view pockets more to hold everything in place until the glue dries and with the biscuits, it’s more for alignment but then you still have to clamp it all up until the glue dries. Biscuits avoid the unslightly hole but then again, you can get plugs for those - each to their own I guess!

    How much do you think you saved on piecing it all together verses buying them already assembled?

  • @jewdd1989
    @jewdd1989 Před 5 měsíci

    Question what’s the total cutting capacity left and right of your miter saw since you have deeper cabinets on either side? Looks very nice and clean but doesn’t seem long enough for long stock except I see the cabinet holding the mitre saw has wheels so makes it mobile to pull out from the wall for longer stock. Anyone wanting to cut down 2x4’s or anything of that length and longer consistently might want to consider your total cutting capacity (also dependent on space allowance) as that can be a pain if you typically build large and medium size projects but I like that they added wheels and the ability it seems to pull out the mitre saw when needed. All based on preference and needs

      The only issue I would see for this method of building cabinets for a kitchen, would be the visible pocket holes in the doors. For a garage or shop, no big deal, but in a kitchen you probably wouldn't want to see those.

  • @Zacharythorsen
    @Zacharythorsen Před měsícem

    Jesus is the answer. Whoever is reading this you may feel lost in life; you may feel like giving up, wishing it would all end. You want peace, but can’t find it. You’ve looked for it in women, drugs, alcohol, porn, money, and so much more, but you feel emptier the more you do it. The only one who can fill us is Jesus Christ, the living God; the one who came into this world as a man and died on the cross to save us from our sins (our wrongdoings against God). If you trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior you will be saved and you will go to Heaven when you die. One thing many people think once they come to God is everything will be perfect. The truth is it won’t be. Once you give your life to Christ the devil will attack you over and over again until you break, but Christ is there to strengthen you and to get you through all things. Give your life to Christ my friends. Without him, life means nothing.
