Cowboy, in case you read this, what killed you in the cursed dungeon was a barrage of bullets that spawned somewhere offscreen and were fired at you artillery style. I think you were too distracted to notice.

This game is kind of like Dysmantle. Good game, maybe not your style though, but then again you're enjoying this game it seems, so who knows.
Dysmantle doesn't respawn resources and you don't have to eat or drink, but making food gives permanent stat bonuses.
There is a base building mechanic you unlock early in, but for me I didn't mess with it until late game, as it can be hard to gather stone in that game until you know what to break to get stuff you need.
Nearly everything can be destroyed at some point in the game. The dlcs are short and neat, the pet dlc is useful, the other two have some cool stuff.
Edit: Those blue orbs you got from enemies is just like Dysmantle, I wonder if it's the same dev?
