I did my Chiswick 'skid training' on an RT type bus aged 21, I was an LT inside staff engineer. (That was a few years ago).
As for the Routemaster, we experienced a few problems with RMs loosing their gears whilst in service.
A number of service drivers, were forced to make emergency stops on the road. The (brainbox) 'gear control panel' which was situated behind the driver, had reverted to the 'skid condition'. Fortunately we had the ' old box of lights'.
This meant that we could disconnect the buses gear control panel and fit our own unit. (Which was very handy).
We would usually find that, everything performed ok by the time we reached the garage, and plugged in the buses gear panel. All back to normal.
NOW that chaps is what Americans call A DRIFT
Butler "Well if I'm going to go, He's gonna go an all" then proceeds to perform a perfect controlled skid
Blakey goes flying off the back and is like, "I hate you Butler" 🤣🤣
What a legendary and classic sitcom On The Buses was 😁
This reminds me of the legendary sitcom, On the Buses, with Blakey going flying off the back when Stan performed his skid 🤣
Make a wet greasy race circuit and you could hold a bus drifting event.
I guarantee it would attract the crowds.
wow 😲 my favourite bus 🚌
Mickey: Rargh and skRrRrRr
why tho, thats an old bus ;-;
Was a time every LT driver had to pass this to get his licence.
Great parking, I'll give it a 4 out of 5 for effort.!!
