This documentary is best expressed using broken English because approximately one in four soldiers who enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War were immigrants to the United States. Foreigners came to America looking for a better life, with many escaping political strife, famine, and persecution already -- but now struggling in America, ironically immigrant survival often meant joining up in our Civil War.

It's unfortunate that it is still such a divided country.
