I am considering getting a Mojotone JCM 800.
That's on a Gibson SG makes it even more special. Great riffs man. Love it.

Sounds damn good and mojo tone has quality parts . I guess these gents don’t realize mojo sells the
same to equal Output 800 like transformers , choke etc . I’ve got the 800 Clone 2204 50 watt is loud
as Hell and it’s tight just like the other 2 real Marshall’s I have I plan
on building the 100 watt 2203
Let me say this the 50 is loud it’s all about what gear you have as far as sound goes the amp is part of the tool takes pedals well and the FX loop is great the sell the mod upgrades you can add before you build it . These guys our killer to deal with and they answer the phone try to see if you get someone on the line ( Not) email might get answered 6 months from now Mojotone is the shit

I'm a sucker for classic brit metal tone! Enough clarity with crunchy raw attitude! Agreed that these style amps (Marshall based) take effects extremely well. What would the 80's have been without the JMP and JCM?
Through the entire video I was thinking "This rig is begging to have some Mastodon riffs played with it", then that little bit of Oblivion poked through at 3:08. Intentional or not, it was kickass!

Hey Fluff. I like your style of video a lot, but I was wondering if you could do a review of these amps without mixing so much on protools. It just seems like every amp you review has megaballz, but it's probably some your producing. That being said, you're obviously a badass at producing a record.
That neck pickup sounds like blown glass on that thing. So shimmery and clear. Nice!

amp sounds killer... killer riffs too. Its interesting how it isn't insanely distorted by itself but with the drums added it sounds heavier and more distorted. (it sits well in a mix) Why oh Why did you sell the Randall Thrasher? I was hoping to hear u do more stuff with it....

More details about this amp? You mention an extra gain stage. Checked out mojotone website and it's a 2203 circuit and I don't see an extra gain stage option. Is it something you added?

hey Fluff, I'm looking to make a legitimate small recording setup that is potentially expandable. I'm already looking at an SM57, one of the new large diaphragm AKG P-series (for stereo use with the SM as well as a vocal mic), but I'm not really sure about interfaces. Really just looking for something good that can recording 3 separate channels at once in an interface, decent monitors, and a good clean source for power. Don't worry about DAWs, as I am already highly experienced in audio editing, and I'll figure that out later after playing with Logic, PT, and Propellerhead more myself. I've just never had my own personal setup. I'll also take any advice on the mics if you would like to modify the any of those two choices. This is probably too specific to put on FAQ mondays for a question (as if you didn't already figure that out).
You should definitely make an A/B test with the plexi amp above! Maybe on the same track.

Hi fluff, do you use a Power attenuator With your amps or just amp straight in to Your cab? I`m considering getting a 100 watt amp in my mancave, but not sure i will get good tones at "bedroom" Levels.- Thanks Tarzan

The Brittish 800 amp on Mojotone's website does not feature an extra gain stage, it's a reasonably stock JCM800, judging from the schematic. Is the amp in the video even available to order yet?
MIss my 2204 some days.
But man, that amp had to be turned up too loud to hit its sweet spot.
I installed a PPIMV and had a Rivera RockCrusher attenuator at the time...
The amps stock Master Volume sounded & worked the best. Go figure.

Diggin the sg was going to get one the sgj like yours but I find myself leaning towards a ltd ec-1000 . Any advice or comments on them would b greatly accepted. I have an epiphone sg which was my beginner guitar the quality isn't good but the feel of an sg is real significant to that type of guitar. Yet im not rich and when I purchase an instrument I have to save for months and I feel like esp ltd really gives u the bang for your buck the components are great better than epiphone or gibson iv heard. . So fluff if u could give me an honest bias opinion I'd really appreciate it fellow beard brotha..

Hey Fluff, I know this is an old video, but do you still own this one ? Im thinking about ordering a british 800 to germany and have it built by a local amp tech. I see you are using an overdrive and have some mods on your amp I suppose ? I would like to play bluesy stuff and some hardrock like G'nR or classic metal stuff, would a Maxon 808 be enough to achieve that much gain ? Thank you !

When i amp shop, the part that bothers me the most, I don't have a band playing with me, i just can't decide on what sounds best if i don't have others thrashing in the background.

Hey Ryan, im sort of new to the whole recording thing...I got the Shure SM57 microphone and have a pretty nice amp. Its only a 1x12, but it has awesome tone. I notice you use two of the same mic and notice a lot of others do the same, or use two different mics. Since I only have one speaker, is one mic all I need? or will two improve the quality of my recordings? Because I don't know if I just need to learn better mic placement or need an extra or what... The recordings just don't sound like it does coming from the amp. It sounds ratty sort of.

I agree with James, try to get a good sound using just one mic if you're a beginner. It will probably take some time until you get the results you want, but you'll get it, at least I hope.
Vel Pro Well, my amp isn't exactly a great one. It's a 100w solid state that only cost me 180 dollars new. Mic'd up through a clean channel it sounds fine. It's when I dirty it up that things start to sound terrible.
Mike Scanlan Getting another mic isn't gonna help your amp to start sounding good. If you have money to spend, it would be better to get a new amp or you could try some amp sims.
Vel Pro Well, I didnt quite explain it right. The amp sounds fine clean and distorted and everything in between. For recording though is when it sounds bad distorted. It just doesent sound good coming through the mic. But I'm figuring it out, getting it sounding better every day.
I had tried a few, mostly Guitar Rig 5, however it sounds extremely synthetic, I really dislike using it. Normally with digital effects processors I can't tell the difference so I am getting either a GT-100 or Pod 500 HDX soon. Nto sure which yet, but will use that as an interface and hopefully get a good sound with that.But anway thanks for the input :)
