    So actually, if you bring an empty bottle, once you pass security, you can fill it with water. If they don’t have a refill station, you can fill it at one of the food places, water fountain or bathroom sink if you must.

    I like American Airlines. They treated me very well. I missed my connecting flight due to a delay, and they put me up in a very nice hotel and gave me a meal voucher as well. I didn't get to my destination until the next day, but honestly, I needed a day of rest at the hotel, so I didn't mind at all.

    I am flying AA in a couple weeks and enjoyed the tips (I always buy the water and another drink and bring snacks. I’ve had no issue with open snacks as long as they are not liquid or liquid adjacent.). I even flew with a half dozen cupcakes from my wedding with no issues, but my sister couldn’t take her yogurt even though it was a super thick and non spillable consistency.

    Thanks for the info-Just a couple of things. First, I have not yet seen any speedy security for 1st class (boarding, yes). Granted, I have only been in Charlotte, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, Laguardia, and Newark, plus a bunch of smaller airports, so I may have missed something in some other big aiports...You have to have pre-check or global entry to go through a quicker security AND it has to be on your ticket and even then sometimes there is no pre-check line (stay away from Miami ariport). Second, you CAN take liquids, they just have to be under 3-4 oz and all contained in a quart size zip lock. Also, you must get your luggage to the check in place at least 45 minutes before scheduled departure (if you are checking luggage) So unless it is a very small airport I think an hour is not enough to make sure that you get your luggage checked in time (if there are long lines). SO true about making sure you have snacks and water.SO true about entertainment--I have not yet had a successful connection-thought it was me! I have to take flights without connections as I live in the boone docks, I fly American and am an AAdvantage member-luckily I have only had connection problems twice in the past 10 years both due to weather (blizzard and bad storms). Thanks for the vid!

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Pƙed rokem

      True, Not all airports have these (yet hopefully more coming) and even the airports that do like DFW, not all security lines at all terminals have them, usually just the main. DFW, Houston, Love Field, Atlanta, are some of the ones I've used. They usually have Pre-Check, CLEAR, Priority and General lines.
      An hour is always enough, I've flown many many times and checked bags. But you have to do what is comfortable to you. You have to know your airport and learn the times to go etc...
      Safe travels! Thanks for watching

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Pƙed rokem

      No and you can take a charger on the plane with you. I just flew in 4 different countries on 5 airlines with no issues. Two of them checked the battery pack but said it was fine. You cannot check a battery but you can carry it on. I actually carry 2-3 battery packs, we both do, when we fly now because we shoot so much video for our channels and social media it goes fast.

      Nope, once you are checked in, you are good to go, you have your boarding pass. You will still need to take your bags to be checked in of course and pay for them if you are not first class or haven't done so online already. Your boarding pass is always available after checking in on your AA Mobile App and you can save it to your wallet as well.

    If you were flying first class and had to have a 8-12 hour layover at any of American hubs, which one would you pick based on the lounge?

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Pƙed rokem

      Dallas is their main Hub and from what I've heard is an amazing Lounge experience. Plus the Dallas Airport is large and has a lot to offer. You could also with that long of a layover, step out, uber over to Southlake (10 mins from airport) for some shopping or dinning. I've only used lounges in Austin, Houston and both of those were United in the USA. I've used lounges in London and Dubai (British Airways) as well when traveling which were so nice. London's first class lounge from British Airways which also allows American passengers in (partners) is really nice. We loved it.

    Question my flight has 2 stops and it’s my first time flying. And it’s a 1 hour I believe called lay over do we instantly go walk to the next airplane? And does the luggage goes to the 2nd airplane and we don’t have to pay again/ pass through security or what occurs I’m sorry I am so lost in all this traveling. Also any restrictions on medications such as for cough or gas relief or headaches?

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Pƙed rokem +2

      Layovers is what it's called.
      You will walk to your next flight. You might have to change terminals. You will usually know this information before your first flight. It's updated in your app. Refresh it so you know where you are going. They will tell you what hate and terminal you are stopping at. For example C12 and your next flight is A20 then you'll know you have to find your way to Terminal A gate 20 example.
      Any checked luggage goes to your destination so you will not have to get it on each layover.
      You won't go back through security unless it's an international layover. Then you'll go back through security.
      Medications are fine with the exception of liquids. These need to be 100ml or less.
      Hope this helps

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Pƙed rokem +3

      I wouldn't worry too much. Don't give your self anxiety. Most of the time the flight is just a few gates down or not far. If your flight gets delays, in most cases your other flight is delayed as well. If you do miss it, they will take care of you since it wasn't your fault and get you on the next plane. I have only missed a connection twice in all my years of flying.
      Your app should tell you the boarding gate for the second flight, if not the minute you touch down, you can turn your phone on and refresh it while taxiing to the gate and find out what it is. (you can always ask the gate attendant as you exit as well where the flight is and they will help you).

      Swiss Gear is great, I've had one of theirs before. It'll be fine. Losing your luggage these days is really really rare. I do use Tile (amzn.to/3zVM81v) and AirTags (amzn.to/3UhNqvQ) though just to be sure.
      Only use Airtag if you are an iPhone user and you don't need both just either or. I've been switching to Airtag away from Tile because they work better for me.
      I do use a Tile Pro still in my checked luggage with 400ft range it's pretty nice to know it made it on the plane with me and when it's coming out at baggage claim.
      Gate check is different, they either fully check it all the way through or they bring it back to you on the ramp when you get off. If you take it down the skybridge and leave it at the door with a tag on it, you'll get it back when you get off, right there at the Jet door. If they take it and say they are checking it through you'll have to go to baggage claims
      Honestly though you should have no issues unless they run out of bin room. I do everything I can to keep mine. I sit near the font of the plane, upgrade as much as possible, etc... Its just never fun to have to wait on your luggage.

      NO!! These days flights are full and you will have to gate check it. Unless by some miracle the flight isn't full if you go in last you will 99% not have overhead but try it... normally the gate will make announcements and as you go to board will require you to gate check it which means they take it before you get on and when you get off it'll be there before you exit into the airport.
      This is why I pay extra for closer up seats or upgrade to first when I can to make sure I have overhead space. When you check-in 24 hours before your flight, they normally will give you some upgrade options unless it's fully booked already.

They were okay; however, the last time I flew, I encountered nasty employees, a shitty, day lounge experience at DFW (with incredibly bad food) and flight attendants, that another reviewer described as "wilted flowers". Perhaps it had to do with flying during the pandemic, but, that was the last straw. Not anymore. I crossed over to United two years ago and have been pleased ever since.
