- The Stolen Recovered Meteor is running so I've started taking parts off to try and give it a new bobbed look. Will a Classic 350 seat fit too?
Building the Meteor 350 / Classic 350 Bobber!
You have a lot of potential for ASMR
Classic 350 seat on meteor was Ingenious 👌
Looks kinda like the Shot gun 650 seating arrangement
Yuh, I was first haha
Really interesting! I ride the same Meteor! Great bike! Looking forward how you customize it! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Hallo und willkommen! Thank you for your comment, I'm excited to see where it goes too, so many options!
i ve been looking for the best meteor modification video but this one is the best i ve seen so far .
please upload more regarding the meteor 350 modifications
Thank you, if you click through the playlist for the video you will see everything there is 👍
Appreciate the verbal note, on the Meteor is easier on the back (than the 350 Reborn) due to handle bar placement. 👍
Apparently its the Modifiers that give RE their ideas. Love the Look.
Thank you Edward, I think I'm going to try the Classic 350 low seat and split the difference between the Classic and Meteor positions. Thanks for watching
Great video very interesting, you are a natural in front of the camera too. I am living in Australia these days, Gold coast. I have a red Meteor amongst my collection of 6 modern Royal Enfield Motorcycles. I think you are on the right track to make a fantastic bobber it is the first one i have seen so far and will follow your progress with great anticipation. Cheers, Lester.
Thank you Lester, that's wonderful to hear. The Gold Coast sounds fantastic, it must be lovely to be riding there, in the UK we're just having one of the first warm weekends of the year so we're creeping out of the garages
Eagerly waiting for part 3 😊
Thank you Mac! Part 3 is already in the can (or SD card at least) and will be up this week. Thanks so much for joining in
Interesting video, look forward to the progress you make with it and future videos. I have both the Meteor and Classic 350.🙂👍
Thank you, I can see I'm going to be asking you lots of questions!
Fire away, I'm on both groups and happy to help.🙂👍
Just subbed you Glyn and enjoying where this build is going 😁👍
Will watch the future films next few days 😁
Cheers Bruce
Cheers Bruce, that's fantastic. Your channel was an inspiration to finally get making some videos and getting one of the 350 family to play about with :)
The bobber style would suit the Mereor.
Let's hope so!
love this video..very comprehensive!
Glad it was helpful!
I would consider buying the meteor 350 if it was a bobber.. looking forward for the final bobber build..
Salamat! I hope you enjoy it, thanks for watching
awesome..this makes my meal full...thanks for the video
Thank you Sir
Excited to see how this turns out! Might as well try a thing or two on my Meteor.
Thank you for watching Sir, I love to see other bikes
Brilliant. Looking forward to the next episode!
Thank you sir, it'll be sorting the locks on next weeks instalment I think
Thank you for the work man
My pleasure!
I like to put the meteor seat on a classic, because I want to sit lower and back.
When I put the classic back together that I'm working on now, I'll try the Meteor seat on it for you so you can see if it's possible, so keep an eye out for that video👍
I absolutely love this video series - I just purchased a Meteor 350 and you have given me some great ideas!!! Did you ever have a chance to put together the seat bracket diagram? If not can I commission one? Thanks!!
Thanks very much! I've got a classic bracket out at the mo and will get on to that for you! cheers, Glyn
@@GlynOC thank you!
Awesome video!
Thank you Sir
Hey man recently meteor 650 got out.. can you try to disassemble it and try out its bobber look.. maybe compare its parts and enginnering with meteor 350 ??
I'd really like to see the new Shotgun 650 soon, maybe I'll take one of those apart. I've seen the 650 Meteor and it's a nicely made bike, the finish on all the parts looks much better than the 350's. Thanks for watching
So close but for some reason you are enamored by the dirt bike style high rear mudguard. Bobbers came from a time before most bikes had rear suspension. The rear mudguard should sit low, like the front one. The only way to do that is to mount it on the swingarm, not the bike frame. Also, with all that weight and bulk removed the suspension doesn’t need to work as hard. Time for some much shorter shocks!
Yes, you're spot on, I am enamoured by the high look and it could go either way at this stage. It'll either be going down on whitewall tyres or up on dirt bike knobblies, the latter is far more likely at the moment and the final mudguard position will kind of drive the whole thing so lots to think about there! Thanks for your comment
Skip the rear mud guard, looks terrific without it, just ride on sunny days. how about a custom bracket for the rear taillight right behind the rear seat, figure a different plate location ?
Yes it is tempting! I feel the need to cut something up at least a little bit though and maybe a small amount of blood spilt so I can feel I've made a good effort. Thanks for watching
My comment disappeared! I saw your response on email.
I tried Hitchcocks...with the changeover in distribution of RE they did not know where to order from. I tried India but they would only quote for 10off. I did order from the French website but they couldn't fulfil the order. I thought about fabrication but I actually wanted the seat further back as I'm 6ft6in. Thus would involve messing around with the front tank bracket: I'm surprised that you managed to make it fit as is.
Finally I'm fitting a Hunter bench seat! It loses the bobber look but I'm going for a trail riding machine!
That sounds great, the Hunter seat looks really comfortable and I like the handlebars they have too but I can't see many parts on ebay for it yet (understandable). I've been looking for a meteor since they came out but they've only just come down to a price where I don't mind having one to tinker with. Please take pictures when you're ready!
To my own opinion and is just an opinion the problem with the meteor is the tail is too high, I want to make my own proyect and I will try to make a custome sub frame to replace the original one that you take out and intent to hold the rear fender closer to the tire, also modify I m sure that will be necesary to modify the rear fender too to archive that lower look on the tail. Also remove some matrial from the seat to make it less tick.
You've got a great eye, have a look at some of the later videos and we go through quite a few changes and options with the tail and seat. Thanks for watching, Glyn
Hello kindly I wanted to ask can I change the saddle of the meteor fireball 350 with the saddle of the classic remaining with the passenger saddle thanks
I think it might be possible with the Classic Bracket, but might have to trim the front mounts a bit so it can fit in, always possible though
I think you should change the handlebar that will give it a more bobber like look
That's a great plan, we'll definitely look at that soon. I've been looking at bars on ebay, there's so many options but at least they're not expensive
Hi and congratulations for your excellent work. I wanted to ask you if it is possible to mount the saddle of the classic 350 keeping the original subframe and mudguard of the meteor. Thank you.
Hello, thank you and yes, I think that would be possible. Apart from the Classic 350 seat and bracket, you'd just have to cut a few mm off the front mounting tubes of the Meteor subframe so that the Classic 350 bracket can fit beside it. I'll try and point this out in the next video for you. Cheers, Glyn
@@GlynOC Thanks Glyn...you are really kind.
How tall are you? Great job!
Thanks very much! I'm 5'10 / 177cm but have very short legs at only 28"/ 72cm
From where you got those solo seat
Hello, I got the seat as a used part and luckily, the bracket that goes underneath too, which you will need (or make one). Thanks
Sir, how tall are you?
I just want to imagine myself over that bike. I am 6’2.
Hello, thanks for your comment. I'm 5'10 with long body and short legs!
Can you install spring seat for rider..?
I am interested in trying springs!
Why not try the classic 350 rear mudguard and then adept that
I've had my eye out for one but the side frames don't seem easily available, apart from the tank and headlight assembly it would pretty much be a Classic 350 then! I like the look of Indian Classic 350's that have the cast wheels, doesn't look like it should work but I like them
Great video I would consider that seat a bit on the high side for me , I like both feet flat on the ground but it would certainly be advantageous for the taller rider wich could be a better selling point than the standard Meteor.
👏🏻
