It’s too bad that you switched out the saddle. You can immediately see a difference in the balance from front to back with the owners saddle or the first saddle. Gabby‘s saddle tends to be far too low in the back and sits too far down right there in front of the lumbar spine, and when the back of the saddle is lower than the pommel of the saddle, it forces the riders weight all the way to the back of the saddle and then all the riders wait is Put there in one spot and the saddle can no longer distribute the riders weight evenly over the panels on the weight-bearing surface area of the horses back. The original saddle fitter that helped designed. Gabby saddle said that she was going to raise the front so that it would force her to fix her position, but it is having the exact opposite Issue and causing her to lean too far forward at the hip angle, which is right where the underwear line is at the front of the pelvis and just above the top of the thigh. You can see that it also forces her entire leg from her pelvis/hip joint all the way down to her foot in the stirrup, too far forward in a chair position . This happens on every horseshoe rides with her saddle because it is too low in the back. It may need some more padding or foam in the rear to help lift and balance. The saddle better. A saddle should never be altered in the way that it fits the horse, and that includes balance from front to back and back to front, in order to alter, or change the rider’s position. Unfortunately, you can see that there are a lot of issues with Gabby‘s position and balance, as well as her ability to use her body correctly to just give regular natural aids to the horses. She rides in her saddle. It is unfortunate that the saddle fitter said that they would raise the front to force Gabby to alter her upper body, because they should have said that that is something you should suggest to work on in lessons through working on the lunch line or just proper riding lessons. And it’s unfortunate that you guys just did not know and you believed, and took the saddle fitters word for it. You can see with the first saddle how well balanced it is front to back and you can even see a complete difference in Gabby‘s position and how correctly her spine is upright above her pelvis with her shoulders, more back over her hip joints and her head isn’t jetting out in front of her , her seat is not out behind her and her legs are nicely underneath her seat compared to her legs, usually being out in front of her in a chair position. You should look into getting Gabby‘s saddle looked at to correctly fit the horse, but also to adjust for proper rider position , with a neutral, pelvis, neutral spine and not using any change in how the saddle should fit the horse to make the rider fix their position. Please just try and get a saddle, fitter out to rebalance the saddle and add some junk in the rear, to lift the cantle. This will make quite the difference in how the saddle will feel on the horses back, and it will allow Gabby to naturally position herself, better without having to fight against her own body, because it’s constantly slipping back into even more of an incorrect position.

Yes I do think GreyFinn is the one that got away. They were forming a really good partnership when she rode him before and they were good for each other. Gabby was so loyal to Chino that I don't think she allowed herself to totally fall in love with him.

I don't think switching the saddle was a great idea. Firstly, all horses backs are different (one of my horses has his saddle fitted every few months to account for changing muscle tone), so using a different saddle can cause rubbing and pinching. Additionally, it's good for riders to get good at riding in different saddles :)
I was also wondering what that dislike of the crop is all about. Horses should be able to stand with crops moving around them unless they have had some sort of bad experience with them.
Note: neither of these comments are intended as hate. I appreciate that we, as humans, are always learning. I just wanted to point these things out in case you were unaware.

He was having issues with the half pad he was using, and he did better in gabbys saddle, if he didn't like gabbys saddle we would have found another option! He is definitely a different horse. One od ours is the same way when he sees a crop and he hasn't been hurt with one. He is just very sensitive.

Grayfinn truely was the one who got away gabby and him has an amazing bond but sadly at the time gabby was so focused on helping chino she wasn’t ready to take on another horse but another “grayfinn” will come along

I hate to say it but yes, Grey Finn is the one that got away. I think he has a brilliant future in front of him (if his new owner wants to show him). I remember him as having really big fences & I still think he could be beautiful in dressage. Bottom line--Gabby didn't really bond with him. I'm not big on regrets. I think Gabby will attract the perfect horse for her into her life.

I love watch Gaby riding Paris . She would be such a great horse for her . I kept hoping that Gaby would fall in love with her and that Paris would be a new addition to your family . I keep praying for it and maybe she will change her mind . Sometimes I am wondering if Gaby' s heart is still with horses . She has changed so much and at times it seems like that her interests have changed . I might be wrong but this is what I see at times .
