To be fair, Rick would usually call in an expert when he's expecting something to be worth something. Seems he also underestimated the value to me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Collectors' bikes of any sort usually go for at least a $1,000 or two. Heck even one of the other shows on the History Channel, American Pickers, bikes are higher valued than this.

I also very clearly know how it was before that and i guess it depends where you from, suggesting by your last name serbia or macedonia probably you can, but even there prices are going up... The main point is for 300euros you got alot better bike 10 years ago, if you want to buy the same bike in 2019 you would have to pay at least 600euros :)

I have MSc in Comp Science... and I've owned a successful firm for the last 9 years. I owe nothing in student debt. You have to learn to properly research career choices before just jumping in to college or university, otherwise it's a waste of time and money. Earning a BSc in Philosophy probably isn't the best choice for careers, whereas anything in the tech and medical fields will certainly have more positive outlooks.

Rick played her. He knew good and well that bike was worth quite a bit of money and that's why he didn't call the expert in because he didn't want her to know the real value. She could've easily got $2,000 for the bike.

In the UK this bike in this original condition is probably worth £5,000-6,500 absolutely amazing

Pawn shops buy low and sell high. She didn't have to sell it to him. Not to mention would you spend 500$ of your own money on that bike with the only hope it's worth 1000 or more? I don't think that matters, this is just speculation but I think the experts purposly lowball the amount they say an item is worth so if the person does decide to sell it the pawn brokers wont have to pay that much and plus they're usually going on blind faith by what the expert is telling them without even doing research on it so the expert could give any estimate he'd want and they'd have to go by that.
when rick calls the expert he tells them what the seller is asking for, then tells the expert to low ball that price.
