If this is the 5:15pm show I was there. Chrissy was very, very emotional. The High Schoolers did an awesome job as well. My favorite time of the year. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Wow! I was on this stage for this performance from 1996 to 1998 and the show is almost EXACTLY THE SAME!
I sang in this back in 2007 and 2008 with my high school choir! was not prepared for the destruction of the hallelujah chorus and joy to the world!
I agree, this is a travesty.
Not to mention the removal of Il Le N'est! And a sudden addition of Do You See What I See? I sang both 2020 and 2021, and Il Le N'est was a big favorite for me. Hurts to see them remove it, and then butcher two of the biggest and most influential musical pieces in, not only this processional, but also music history.
This year they will be going back to the old version with them splitting up (and removing "let there be peace on earth")

When my parents went to this, they explained to me how they would be reading the Christmas Story here. At first, I thought they meant the OTHER Christmas Story. đ

If they can no longer do the full Hallelujah chorus all the way through then they should remove it instead of chopping it up in a weird arrangement with other songs. No way I can sing along anymore âčïž

Go and look for recordings from 2021 and earlier and sing along to your heart's delight. And sing along to Joy to the World for good measure.
My school does hallelujah chorus
They switched it up to make room for the new song called "Let There Be Peace On Earth".

Beautiful choir, extraordinary orchestra and director. So as the set design, amazing. The narrator was, regretfully, not up to the standard.
So sad they changed it up so much. So many less singers. The songs are done differently. I didn't go in person this year and after watching this I am glad I didn't
The singers for this performance are all high school students aside from the voices of liberty, so unfortunately there wouldn't be as many as years prior.
