    “Bio-medical waste" means any waste, which is generated during the diagnosis, treatment, or immunization of human beings or animals or research activities or in the production or testing of biological or in health camps, including the categories mentioned in Schedule I appended to these rules.
    Steps for Effective BMW Management
    1. Survey of waste generated.
    2. Segregation of hospital waste.
    3. Collection and categorization.
    4. Storage of waste.
    5. Transportation of waste.
    6. Treatment of waste.

    Good video
    I also want to add, people should not spit evey where.
    Use of tissue papper instead of handkerchief, should be motivated to decrease risk of infection spread.

    Thanks for the video. Why urine bag or catheter is included in red bag and not in yellow bag and incinerated?

      Urine bags and catheters are infectious material made up of plastic and on incineration it releases toxic fumes. So, it cannot be incinerated. Yellow is basically for anatomical waste, which can be incinerated.

    Hair should be discarded in which bin

      Correct answer:
      1. Infectious/ probably Infectious hair (used in laboratory/hospital/ other health care facilities): to be discarded in Yellow bin
      2. General hair (used after combing at home) is a domestic waste: to be discarded in Black bin
