- In this tutorial we will learn how to pass parameters in URL, while using URL actions in Tableau Dashboard.
Here will use a source dashboard from where we will call another Tableau dashboard and filter the target dashboard using parameters.

I am trying to pass a date parameter and Name parameter. But when I pass only name, it works fine and when I add "&date+filter=" name dropdown shows blank. Date is getting selected but name is not getting selected so it is showing blank page. What to do in this case
quick question regarding this. are these parameters passed to Custom query or to the reports where you have all the data for country, region and state in the target dashboard already queried from database?
These parameters are passed to the Dashboard not to the Query actually.
I have similar requirements, dashboard has many filters and all are multi-select. While passing parameters, url becomes too big and gives error. Is there any other way of passing filters?
Not that I am aware of.
I am facing some problems in my project. Lets Take an Example --- Could you please tell me If there is category wise sales in one dashboard and sub-category wise sales in another. When we publish it to the Tableau Server how to link them through the action url means If you click on any category sales it will open the second dashboard in which it will show only related sub-category wise sales that we have selected on the first dashboard. Kindly help me.
Hello,
I'm getting "missing fields on sheet error" in URL action dialogue box.
Any idea what am I missing here?
Hey what if I want to open the link in same window.
Can we pass filters instead of parameters
These parameters are acting as filters for the report we are navigating to and so acting as a filter only. Hope this helps, or let me know your problem statement I will take a look and revert.
