Hello there. Nice conversation. Lots of good stuff.
Seems like I'm in the middle range of age of you two. Toys and tv shows in the 80s in my country tend to arrive a bit later or same time, quite random depending on the success of the franchises or where they came from. But I feel the vibe of the nostalgia talking about first toys school etc was the same story to me.

Germans call it university, too. Although we also got a kind of college, that the Germans literally call „high school“ (And (senior) high school in German is called „Gymnasium“ 😂). Difference between university and college in Germany is, in university you have to entirely organise yourself, while in college you have a lesson plan, so it is structured and rigid.
