I remember seeing them on the strip in June 1986. I was delivering Mattress to a timeshare and saw them in front of the Karmelcorn shop. I screamed I love you Tammy Faye she yelled back I love you to.
This is great! I'm in town now and like you, believed the rumors that they had a visible mansion over on the other side of town. I'll get my spouse to keep his eyes peeled when we drive off the mountain on our last day.

Tammy Faye long gone and Jimmy alive & well, setting up shop in Branson. Which is basically Gatlinburg part 2.
Been very curious about the whereabouts and the layouts of both their Gatlinburg house and the Tega Cay house. I know their giant home in Tega Cay has since burned down, but I’m fascinated by the Polynesian architectural style. I wonder if blueprints of either of these homes still exist. Would love to construct a virtual walkthrough of each one so we can all get a tour. 3-D CAD walkthroughs are something I do really well, so it would be a fun little bit of Bakker history to explore. I think this is such a wonderful video. Thank you! 😊

Same! Especially the Tega Cay one. It was added onto multiple times and I think they had an interesting pool/or bridge over the pool in the backyard like a walkway garden thing

@@highwayexplorer ahh gotcha. That’s so cool. I’m wondering why they put such detailed info about their house such as the road name. Kind of defeats the purpose to hideaway. Also, I noticed the lamps that melted are the same exact ones from heritage USA. there’s still lamps like that outside the hotel lobby in the parking lot to this day.
