Ditch the gift wrap and have a beautiful, low-stress, and sustainable holiday season! There are many green options that can be used year after year under the tree, but reusable fabric gift bags are simple and affordable.
Once you have made a few, you will be able to whip them up for every occasion, in just 12 minutes. Yup 12, crazy right? That is how long it takes Aimee, the hands of this video, to make the bag in real time. (The video is sped up a little to save your time)
The bag in this video is made from two 12" squares. You can get one from a fat quarter, or 2 from a half yard. I suggest two fat quarters that coordinate. This size is perfect for a smallish something. A ornament, coffee cup, or jewelry. Also great as sock knitting project bag.
Brand new to sewing? This is a perfect first project. You will learn a lot of basic skills and it's incredible "forgiving". Just follow along and ask questions if you have them.
Ohh my gosh! Best tutorial ever!! Sooo quick and easy!! I made mine a bit too large though. Lol. I did 16 by 16 and made my comers way to big. But still, it was soo quick and easy for a new p, self taught sewer. I cannot wait to make more using a smaller size and with smaller petals. These will make great bags for Christmas cookies as a hostess gift! Thank you soo much!
Thank you for watching!
This is the first tutorial I've seen that seals up the sides of the bag. That was the one thing I really didn't like about the design till now, but if the non-petal edges are sealed, that makes the bag feel a lot more secure! Thank you so much for making this version!
Yikes, if the sides aren't sewn everything would fall out. I'm glad this version works better for you. Thanks for watching.
I agree!
Wow I love that tutorial really amazing specially what you've done with the sides really good thanks again
thank you for watching
Ohh my gosh!! Yes!! Success!! I am going to put a coffee pod in here and give it as a little gift ☕️. Thank you such!! I wish I could add a photo to this comment.

Loved it. It also made a flexible box before the string went in to put in a suitcase to hold your watch and rings in the hotel. Thank you for sharing.
great add on!
Great pattern. Can’t wait to make some for Xmas 🙏
Thank for watching!
Looks easy to do

Thanks for the tutorial! I made 2 first one was a fail-to lopsided, send was cuter, not perfect but made with 💕 💕love ,
I'm sure you'll get it. It takes practice and those corners can be hard.
Thanks for the great tutorial!

Loved the tutorial.....jingle bells got annoying though 😬 sorry x Merry Christmas everyone xx
Thank you for watching. I've learned a lot about video making in the last 2 years, and I totally agree on the music part.
Love the fabric who is it by ?
I believe these fabrics were out of the "way back" steah. So I don't know the marker any more.
What size would you recomend for clothespins? I wanna make a fancy bag for it and I like this bag. I'm just not sure how big i'm gonna have to make it :)
Hey there,
My gut reaction is 24", but I guess it depends on how many clothes pins you have
@@TheFabricNinja That seems about right. I'll have to try it out :) Thanks a lot! ^_^
What did u put inside ur bag
This one was used for jewelry.
@@TheFabricNinja alright thank u
Great video other than your music was to loud.
I totally agree. I made this video many years ago and I would never do that again. Maybe at some point I'll have a chance to remake the video.
12 x ?? What??
It's always a square. So 12x12 or 18x18
the bag looks nice, but the instructions are confusing. The camera should show close up of the stitches on the sewing machine to get better understanding of where the stitches should be relative to the edge of the fabric.
