- Fabiola was often the most accessible member of the Belgian royal family. Her cheerfulness and zest were often contagious.

I didn’t understand a word she said but her spirit was beautiful!
Sure you get «Voila»
so you don't speak french or flemish? 😱😉😂
@@amigosindanger queen Fabiola didn't speak Flemish either
@@jefke69 um yes she did, just listen to the last fragment
She asked if young people with a mohawk had to use much hair spray and they told her they used gel.
She got death threats from someone who wanted to shoot her with a crossbow. With the apple she referred to the story of Willem Tell, who could shoot an apple that was put on someone's head.
In the Netherlands we know her best from the fairytale she wrote "the Indian water lilies". We call it "Fabiola's fairytale"
Fabiola was a Spanish noblewoman but she worked as a nurse before she married which might help to explain her down to earth personality. Charming.
Charming francist?
Translation of the Dutch/Flemish (not the reporter):
Guitarist: The next song we're playing is for the most special person here.
Queen: If you only knew how they made the king dance during the summer
Queen: When I look at the hairstyles of the young, I often wonder how they manage to set their hair so straight. Is it because of the lacquer (hairspray?) they can set it like that? How much lacquer do you need for that? Loads or just a bit?
Guy: It's gel
Queen: Ahh...it's gel, it's not lacquer. You learn something new every day!
The scene with the apple resulted when some idiot threatened to shoot her with a crossbow....so, like William Tell, she carried an apple to the National Day celebrations and encouraged the guy to bring it on.
Queen: Sir, take a photo with the flowers
Thank you!
it's not dutch it's french
@@fredii2810 Erm, if it's the written word, it's translated. If it's the spoken word, then it's interpreted. This was a translation of the written word....written in Flemish/Dutch. :-)
At a function in Liege, the caterers had messed up and all the food was cold. When handed a glass of champagne, Queen Fabiola took a sip and then exclaimed, " Finally, something warm ! " Sharp as a knife.... !
She was definitely a character 😊
She was adorable. Such a nice lady. It’s sad to see how people age. She still looks beautiful, but in her hay day... she was very attractive.
Missing the White Queen. From the Philippines, we will always pray for her. Abrazos.
Era Española nacida como Doña Fabiola de Mora y Aragon. Después Reina consorte de los Bélgia.

Lol that appel was so funny she is like here you go shoot it lol
Fantastic video. Congrats Laura. Thumb up!!
Thanks & best regards from Madrid!
Very funny! I loved her! :-)
I know, right? As I read this video (without benefit of the native tongue) I see her dancing after the song is dedicated to her. Then, she says something like 'they said get up and dance so I said why not?' Then, she asks the guys how they get their hair to stand up and she's told hair gel. Then, she does her naughty apple trick and finally she asks where'd those flowers go? Then, when she gets them - voilà - her picture is now taken. Just a cute clip.
She looks lovely with the flowers.
The Apple tho...'Come shoot me!'😂😂😂
She is certainly no stiff Queen Elizabeth...
I just love her,she is amazing queen.

Awww she’s lovely ☺️
she WAS lovely, but only on you tube
Quand on voit son sourire lumineux on comprend que Baudouin soit tombé amoureux.
Saber estar, encantadora!!
Lovely when monarchs are so genuine

@@jefke69

Bijzondere vrouw.

Thank you for sharing, my friend.
Can someone add translation
A translation is already available under the form of Dutch subtitles.
Yetta?
Haha. That was very funny.!
But what was she talking about?
about nothing, as she did always
Sorely missed
NOT a minute !
Is queen paola as popular as her in Belgium though?
No, not nearly as popular! I met Fabiola when I whas 4 years old and I still remember here kindness. When here husband King Boudewijn died in 1993 I whas heart broken.... ❤️
@@sandradouwen maar kind toch, gelukkig is er Frozen ;-)
not at all, she just costs money
@@jefke69 ma joen toch, iedereen zijn eigen mening daarover, en frozen is ok, maar ik verkies Pocahontas 😜
Like Queen Paola, and Queen Elisabeth of the Belgians, she was unable/unwilling to speak the language of the majority of the Belgians: Dutch, which is not difficult to learn. Look at Maxima of the Netherlands.
Most Belgians speak French. Some speak German. Only in Flanders or Limburg do they speak Dutch.
@@louisavondart9178 you don't know what you're talking about. Dutch is spoken in the whole of Flanders (West Flanders, East Flanders, Antwerp, Flemish Brabant and Limburg). the official rate of Dutch speakers is 60% versus 40% of French speakers and a small minority of German speakers in the East Kantons.
Beste manier om ze te beschermen tegen bedreigingen: afschaffen. Le meilleur moyen de les protéger contre des menaces: les abolir, au plus vite.
Quite a change from leopold then?
A funny friend of Franco!
"The funniest"? So there are other funny Belgian royals?
the whole country is just a joke
yeah, Prince Laurent, a big clown
From France, Belgium is pure comedy. We love the Belgians.
@@123482625 No it’s not a joke. From a Belgian guy :)
