Everything its great, just recalls me were i born in my country and part of my childhood, i can said all slums places are very similar, humble people friendly and kind although having so little and poor life style still sharing what they have with a smile and gratitude to be visiting their places, and the best of all those well chilled red horse 🍺 👍🏼😎🇵🇷

I like the horse-drawn carriage ride you had. I missed that ride a long time ago. It's called tartanilla. It's Good the city government retained that ride to maintain its spanish heritage.

Great video and your open, friendly, non judgemental attitude really showed the locals you were genuine and interested in their area and lives.
It seems in the Philippines the poorer and less the people have, the more friendly and accommodating they are willing to give what little they have. In many cultures the wealthy become selfish and untrusting due to money.
The people of the Philippines are very special and Western culture could learn a lot from them.
Thank you Tom for immersing in Pasil. I was born and grew up in Cebu City. Back then, Pasil has been known for haven of drugs, robbery and a dangerous area. I was always scared to go there but you gave the place a different impression. That’s brave and amazing. Just hoping the place will be cleaner someday, it would be a great project, don’t you think? I like how you interact to locals. Just talk to anyone and ask for info and they will try hard to answer your questions. The trash floating under the bridge needs to be cleaned-up.

Well done for visiting Pasil, a fun and great place. Been there many times day and night, same as anywhere it has it's problems, I've gone out all times of night on my own, no problems. Damn! With videos as interesting and revealing as this one i can't believe you don't have a whole lot more subscribers. You showed a side of the Philippines that very few Western travelers would ever see.
I've only been to the Philippines once, back in 2018.
While in Manila I spent a short time in Tondo, the city's biggest slum. I was met with smiling faces and people eager to pose for my camera. I would have spent more time there but Hurricane Mangkut, which crashed into northern Luzon, created high winds and driving rain that seriously threatened the life of my camera. The winds got so strong that I couldn't hold an umbrella to protect my camera gear so I cut my visit short.
Always a warm welcome from the locals and look how happy they are. That red horse beer is very strong and very cheap, I've had a few hangovers in the past because of it.
I live here in Cebu. All I can say is, if you can go outside the city, you will find the nicest people there :)

Hogan! Loved your video! Will be in the Philippines mid Feb. SO excited/never been. Your video is great! There's another blogger who walks all around slum type areas in the Philippines non stop recording. You never see his face and he has almost interaction with anybody, never says a word. Nobody smiles at him, I think because he holds his camera in front of his face. Anyway you're the complete opposite which is super awesome! ~See you in the jungle~
