    I gotta say, as an SF Giants fan, I despised this guy to no end. He was the perfect manager to hate for a team I detested. And he played it up like no one: Before the game, walking onto the pitcher's mound and blowing us kisses at Candlestick. Looking back, I have nothing but the greatest memories of the greatest fun with this guy as the skipper of our enemy. There is no one else more fun-loving, and respectable. He knows how to share the complexities, complications, victories and defeats of living. I am so thankful to having had him as the Dodger's manager. What great times! I absolutely love remembering him. And this is spoken from a fan of his biggest rival ballclub. If he can instill in me so much admiration, imagine how big his heart actually was. I miss this son of a gun in the worst way.

    I was a Yankee fan growing in So Cal in the 70's and 80's. Let me say this...I have the utmost respect, love, and admiration for Tommy Lasorda, Vin Scully, and the entire Dodger organization.
    Modern baseball is so bland and PC compared to mouths like Tommy, Billy Martin, and Earl Weaver...they are all sorely missed.

      @ronachten2902 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm a Dodger fan and I totally agree with you. Lasorda should only get into the Hall by buying a ticket. He was a bad manager when it came to strategy and burning out great starting pitchers. Tommy always seemed to be at least a step behind the opposing manager. Bochy, conversely achieved so much more with much less talent at his disposal.
