- These extinct animals are ones that I believe could still be alive. Regardless if they are extinct or alive, they are examples of animals in which conservation practices and de-extinction can possibly help save.

Do you think any of these animals could still be out there?
Yes..! I believe that you... forrest... could find they 🔥❤️
Probably
Any new shows coming out soon? Really love to watch them! I’m going into the field of environmental studies, probably with a minor in wildlife or conservation.
Forest I will be more than happy if you could answer my question about what your thoughts are on the tree lobster
I wish more people would realize how important every creature is on this planet. The only species destroying the planet is us. And the powers at be don't want to make a true change.
My dad should be on here
Lol😂😂😂😂
Well thats sad
😂@@tadijastojanovic6847
4/10
He faked his death to get away from you.
Forest, we need your show back. Loved watching you and your team go out and search for extinct creatures
Oh man, I loved that show! You are absolutely right, the world needs that show back!
Love anything he does!!
Where is Jeremy Wade we need him to find the Fish
He caught em all
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
That would be an amazing collaboration/crossover special
He needs to be on a Joe Rogan episode.
We need em all
Such an underrated channel, love all ur stuff forest watched ( and loved) extinct or alive. You even inspired me to become a zoologist! Ty forest
Congrats! I'm hoping to get my master's degree in Zoology :) right now I'm aiming for a bachelor's degree in wildlife conservation
@@Foxtrot12345 GL to you. Hope u accomplish your goals!
@@Moon_TMNS Thank you! I wish you the best of luck as well :)
In 10 months almost 750.000 people subscribed thats a great rating
Extinct or alive with Jeremy Wade, fish edition
"FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Need that in my life
That 100% needs to happen.
Are you ever gonna go and search for extinct creatures again or is the show completely over?
That's a good quest
It’s expensive as hell. I doubt the funding will available.
Yeah
he’s currently raising money to go on another thylacine exhibition in papua new guinea i believe
@@callummck ok I hope I loved that show
As a commercial fisherman myself… the deeper fish go, the oilier they can get… the fat catfish most definitely is going to be in the deepest parts
Just look for the oil slick… 😂
Bring back extinct or alive!! That show was awesome
That bat drawing was pretty funny, it’s shaped like a big Tylenol.
We need the show back, there are definitely animals out there needing saving and a lot of those have already been given up on. You are one of the only researchers out there actually going into these regions and looking for these animals.
Are you bring existed or alive back? One of the best shows ever!!!!
Love you forest, keep educating the next generation in actual interesting and important content
love this channel . thanks forrest
Wait did the Māori kill off like what could of been the biggest land bird, eagle and gecko? Damn
Our species had caused the extinction of hundreds of animals and it's not getting any better with our destruction of the environment.
I dont think we killed it off per say, they just real good at hiding gotta know where to look and how to keep it quiet
@@simplylethul99% of all species became extinct before humans even existed
Europeans killed more.
Māori’s have big appetites, not surprising
These are like my favorite internet videos! Educational and entertaining! Well done good sir!
Love both your channels, man such good content
I definitely have the highest hopes for the giant gecko and the seahorse for how illusive they seem for different reasons that don’t really seem to be too human involved
Thanks for the awesome content Forrest!
The seahorse seems pretty likely to be out there still; maybe the catfish too. I'm still pulling for the Tasmanian Tiger even though they didn't make this list.
Did somebody win the bow fishing trip? If so was it me?
He made a video on the tasmanian tiger and he thinks it's still alive !
They just recently discovered a brand-new species of pygmy Seahorse. The oceans are so vast I agree that the seahorse is most likely still out there. The Thylacine, meh… not so much.
love these videos, and hes so amazing at speaking about the animals you hear how much he cares! Love forrest and his whole team
The fat catfish is adorable and hilarious
bro got that sonaria pfp 🗿
@@jans_bro knows what sonaria is 🗿
I love it, it's so square and fat.
That’s what she said
It looks like a large intestine with fins.
I remember the show. I thought about it a lot but never could find it. I’m so happy to find your CZcams and see you’re still on this journey!
Your rediscovery of the Zanzibar leopard was absolutely wonderful..
Totaly faked by insert editing existing Leopard footage taken elsewhere and before.
Wake up mate !
You should do video for Balkan Lynx. Less than 40 individuals is estimated that stil exist in Serbia, N. Macedonia, Albania, Greece and Montenegro.
Not in Greece sadly. It’s not a species though, just a subspecies categorised differently mostly because of it’s specific geographic location. From what I understand it’s pretty identical to the eurasian lynx
@@sterkar99 I didnt know for Greece. I was thinking that there are small number of lynxes in Greece. Sad...
If i ever hit the lotto bro, i would legit fund your quest 100% Forrest is doing gods work. I support it 1000%
Did you buy tickets this week?
@fenrirgg yeah
@@nightcedargarden good lol
One born every minute
He would 100% take your money !
Keep up the great work Forrest!
I love these videos you put out man! I’m a big fan of your work!!!!
If only there were a show that did a great job finding animals that may be extinct or alive.
i would bring a load of disposable cameras and give them to all the local people i could and encourage them to try to get pics of these rare creatures in return for money or something to get confirmation of their existence
That’s a really good idea
Great idea
💡
No because why hasn’t any researchers done this?
They might try to fake it then unfortunately. Worth a shot I suppose.
Great video Forrest 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This video was amazing! We need more videos like this. You should make it a series here on CZcams!
Big fan here, love the channel
9:25 - 9:36 I know that back in the summer of 2019, members of Re:Wild, The Swiss Center for Scientific Research & The Florida Atlantic University went to the Tanoe-Ehy Forest and set up camera traps to find the lost monkey species.
There's a link on their website that shows footage of other rare and endangered primates they recorded.
Please share the link
Hey Forest! Love you channel and shows I was wondering if you were going to release another season of extinct or alive? I’ve rewatched so many times and you’re so good at explaining different things about animals it’d be awesome!
Awesome video. I appreciate the content!
The story I heard was that in 1888 after a storm in newZealand a very large lizard was found in Hokieanga .lots of people saw it and the local moari took it away.
I am almost 50, 49 today actually. I grew up on the east coast of Australia in southern Queensland. As a child the beach was littered with seahorse carcasses, and as I was a child, I thought that was natural. Now I have not seen a seahorse carcass in 30+ years and it makes me wonder if I was seeing a mass extinction back then. Any ideas Forrest?
Happy belated birthday
@@Garfunkleandntheshplitz thanks.
Yes , happy late bday!
@silverseen8300 Thanks, champion.
Happy belated birthday! Really curious if that was a mass extinction event.
Love the video. A region specific series like this would be amazing
Why does forrest look like he’s solving world hunger in every thumbnail lolol
The Japanese wolf and otter would be incredible finds! 2 extremely cool creatures that have awesome roles in Japanese folklore, if only we got extinct or alive season 3.
The Caspian tiger is one that may not be extinct!! Many sightings have been recorded in Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and especialy Turkey!! Even in Afghanistan, american military personal reported tigers in northern afghanistan many times during occupation!! Central asia and the middle east are huge places with many isolated areas where the caspian tiger has many chances of survival!!
Love your vids and your hunger to finds these gems. Go get em.
You’re a great guy keep up that great work and love the channel
Anybody else having problems with the audio? Echoy audio starting around 11:00.
yes
played another video to check it
yeah its the video
yeah same
Yep
You're not the only one. It was driving me nuts.
Love this stuff wish you still had funding for this maybe some other network would take it on.
Forrest has some of the most indisputably well produced yt stuff man.
I kinda don’t like it. I go to CZcams to not watch tv lol but still good content
Another awesome video I am never disappointed by your content
I miss the Kauai O’O Bird… its Mating call was so beautiful
Tf happened to the audio
Thought it was just my phone 😂
I wish i could experience what Forrest does, I love animals. 😢
Thank you for everything you do I watch everyone of ur videos keep up ur great work
Brilliant video 🎥
Forrest please make more of these videos because they are great and I love it and please make more extinct or alive episode I also love it please🔥❤️
I think he is going to do it on his own and nor with a network.
@ForrestGalante, you need to indicate ‘paid product placement’ for your Magic Mind health shot in your video or they may be demonetized. Only looking out… - love the vids.
Love these videos
Love your stuff Forrest! Been a fan since I was 12 and stoked to be a SB local like you. If you ever want to go fish lmk!
Was the Extinct or Alive series partially based on/inspired by Re:Wild's "Most Wanted Lost Species", which started in 2017?
(Hence why they critiqued your involvement with both the Pondichery Shark & Fernandina Tortoise)
Can we rename the fat catfish to the fatfish?
Or fat bish fish
Love your videos I watch it with my kids all the time thank u for making them
Love these videos, you should be so much more popular
Have you ever covered the Carolina Parakeet, which was really a Conure Parrot and America's only native parrot species. Their extinction due to hunting for feathers or just fun and habitat destruction always breaks my heart.
They’re not the US’s only native parrot.
There’s a species called the green parakeet or the Mexican green conure that is native to the very southern tip of Texas.
They’re different from the invasive feral green Quaker parrots but often confused with them.
They’re incredibly bright green and so cute!
I’ve had them in my yard a few times.
The last straw for the Carolina parakeet was poisoning because they had a habit of twisting green fruits (apples, peaches) off trees in orchards.
I love attention brought to the Carolina Parakeet, but he is searching for living animals (or ghosts of them) not actually extinct animals
I started watching extinct or alive from 2018 OMG I Love it
PLEASE DO MORE SHOWS. I LOVE WHAT YOU DO
For us keep up the great work
if rediscovered, that catfish would start a body positivity movement and an appeal to be called elsewise
Gotta catch em all!
Forrest I could see you doing a video on crucially endangered bumblebees. Especially the Rusty Patched and American bumblebees. Both of these have vanished from their ranges . There was a documentary out there made about the Rusty Patched Bumblebee that really got me into what’s going on with a virus killing them off
I’d love for you take make another series of extinct or alive, was my favourite thing to watch 😀 I think there is so many animals out there that we thought was extinct x
You may miss Japanese wolf
Bro my comment didn’t go through
Dude..... wait You are at Genius Level with Biology. I am a Brand New subscriber. I will Learn More in the following vids. Geesh Bro!!
Who makes these thumbnails?.....
Probably AI in a photo of him
recently (2023) the dna of the kawekaweau was sequenced and it was discovered that it was from new Caledonia, not NZ sadly, it would be cool it it was the lost kawekaweau from legend but it sadly is not
This was so widely publicized it’s surprising it was missed in the research for this video.
@@baroquecello probably filmed awhile ago
The narration text, for this video; was well written. Thumbs up, left, for it.
I'd love a video on ground sloths with all theories Forrest has on where they could still be, how many and their chance of one day being discovered again
Bro. That gecko is the most perfect pet ever… why isn’t it still alive😭 I actually want one so badly
I love that this came across your mahogany desk. Top notch as always.
Start fundraising and do an Extinct or Alive type content. Screw the suits. I’ll donate.
~love
JAWS
Thank you for your very enlightening video. I hoped that you were going to mention Kauai o'o. Maybe one day.
If only extinct or alive could comeback 😣😣 great video man
Im gonna live to the day i see these animals comeback
I can't wait to see you look for the Tasmanian tiger
No thanks
Very interesting video I learned a lot, your Latin is not bad.
The trout being introduced to South America was devastating for many lakes.
Itroducing Trout to Lake Titicaca in the 30ies wiped out two species of native fish.
Not ot mention the Titicaca frog (Telmatobius culeus) one weird looking frog massive eyes.
Yeah please anti poachers protocols soon.
That's just an animal conservationist that you give a gun
Wow I’m first
I watched one video from this guy and I instantly subbed
Thank you for the amazing content forrest my dream is it one day see some of the amazing sights that you have been able to
Forrest I would love to see an episode of you talking with Jeremy Wade and his once in a lifetime catch of the incredibly rare Glyphis Shark he caught.
Also take him to find that fat catfish on a new Extinct or alive episode hes the best man for the task 👍
Keep it up!! You have a dream job, ayk
For the first time, I subscribed to a channel watching only the first 15 seconds of a video.
I love outdoor activities, I love nature, mountains, trees. I’d love to go on a adventure trip with you
Forest we need some type of show back ON TV ASAP .
As a saffa, hearing the way Forrest says 'Years' is most satisfying
Thank You Forrest! You are the best!!! Steve Irwin would be so proud!!
Steve could pick a shyster every time
this would make a great netflix series! next you gotta get out there and find them!!
People like Galante makes more people like Galante, this guy is awesome
Seriously ?
Your the new generation Steve Irwin keeping young minds interested in the wildlife I love the mojo you give and have
Colobus punk monkey looks so rad. ❤
The biologist holding the giant gecko looks devious and high at the same time
The stuffed big gecko being discovered in a museum after remaining unnoticed for more than a hundred years news makes me think, what if there were other such last and only specimens that got damage / eaten by pests / thrown away by janitors who thought they were replaceable!
God if I could find a husband exactly like Forrest I would be so happy. Traveling the world exploring and having the time of our lives and finding extinct animals! How fun!
