Honestly, they should be more transparent with these turn arounds. And why's it taken nearly 2 weeks for this to filter down to SF? If BA want to wait for the 777-Xs, so be it. However, think they should bite the bullet and call up Airbus for some more A350's to replace the very oldest of the fleet.
Why is it so common for airlines to buy new expensive aircrafts, when keeping up with the regular maintenance of older planes is the right thing to do. They'll rather spend more and not less to save cost and be profitable? 😒
For now, In my opinion, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be replaced the airline's Boeing 777-200ER rather than the 777X due to repeat certification delays (to now likely early 2026)

Rather than “technical issue”, it was turkey and cranberry sauce they forgot to bring along!
The best replacement for the 777-200ER is obviously the A350-900

More than enough time to replace the aircraft once upon arrival at LHR.
How are are "frequent flyer miles" assessed in this case. Hope accrual is NOT zero for the scenic flight.
