You’d love it. Thanks for the review I appreciate the love. Trunk really is huge I got a full size spare and and full size jack and still have tons of space.

I have a 2012 impala. Got it with 115k miles on it fixing to hit the 140k miles on it and the only repairs I've had to do was a new tire that busted and it was completely my fault. Regular oil changes and it's still running strong. Big on the inside, its quick, and goddam I swear I can fit just about everything in the trunk. Worth it

I run a 2015 limited, she FLIES it’s beautiful- I had enough empty highway space to get her to 100 today, kid you not it took barely 10 seconds, all stock. She’s a dream :,) I agree the steering is heavy, but it makes for more careful driving to combat how quickly she speeds up. Definitely keeps you feeling in control, as you said. Glad I purchased it, sleeper for sure

I've had 6 cars in the last 3 years, all which were different in style, price and speed, for anyone interested I'll give you my opinion. The fastest car I had and my favorite was my 2015 dodge challenger rt/plus, I also had a 2010 Kia forte koup sx, 2019 Kia forte lxs, 2013 Lincoln mks, 2019 dodge challenger sxt, and now I currently drive a 2014 Chevy Impala limited lt.
Let me explain why I went through the cars and why I am driving the Impala. First of all, I bought cheap cars at first because I want to be smart financially, so I started off with the Kia sx koup. After I paid it off I said screw it and bought more expensive cars, regretted my decision, went back to a cheaper car which was the Lincoln mks, after I spent so much money on those cars I said screw it again and bought the V8 challenger since it was my dream car, traded that in because I realized I was not being smart and also lived in a dumb area where owning the challenger was causing people to hawk it and come up to me all the time.
I ended up staying with the Impala temporality until I can move into a place that has a garage, driveway or at least a better neighborhood. I also figured I needed to stop being dumb and owing debt and that I should get that challenger later when I can actually afford it.
So here is my take on all those cars I had.
All of those cars I had felt fast in their own way except the Kia lxs. The challenger rt is not even a comparison, it's just way more badass than the rest simply because of the sound alone.
I liked every car I had but also has things I disliked. The Kia sx felt fast and had a premium sound system, the lxs was nicer, better gas, felt much slower and I didn't like the sound system that much. The challenger V6 felt awesome but I didn't like that I choose that over the V8 since the V8 was my dream car, so for me even though the V6 was fast enough and cool, it didn't feel right, felt pointless to be honest having a V6 Challenger other than for the looks of it.
Then I had the Lincoln mks, that thing was pretty fast for how big the car was and the sound system was awesome. The thing I HATED about that car was the leather cracking on the seats pissed me off.
The challenger V8 was obviously the best, no complains other than people will bother you over the car and it will eventually get on your nerves if you dont live in a nice neighborhood. I also didn't like the leather was also starting to crack. This car was also faster than almost any car on the road, the only normal cars people drove faster than it was maybe mustangs, Camaros or those Ford focus models that are fast. Most people where I live aren't in a supercar so the challenger would beat almost everything, not many people even tried racing it because I guess it looks intimidating.
I am a person who likes Performance but I also wanted a car without any major debt or dislikes.
This is where the Impala comes in.
The Impala you can get with cloth seats which I liked since every leather seated car I had cracked or had lines through the seat and I couldn't stand it.
The Impala is also 4 doors unlike the challenger.
The Impala has a decent sound system, it's not the best but it's not crappy. So I am satisfied with it because at least it's not horrible.
The car can be had relatively cheap under 10k or under 6-8k also depending on milage. A normal person can pay that debt off relatively fast if they was to have a loan on it.
The 3.6l V6 has around 300hp and the car is fast enough. It doesn't feel slower than any of those other cars besides the challenger rt that I had.
Assuming that nothing major is wrong with the car, it's a freaking nice deal, and if I could rewind time I would have chosen this as my first car.
The reason is because it has everything, it has decent power (faster than most cars on the road), it has 4 doors, you can get non leather seats so it doesn't crack, sound system is alright, the car is affordable and you can get out of debt quicker if you have to go down the loan route, insurance is cheaper as well, and parts are cheaper.
It has everything and if I would have chosen this as my first car I would have saved at least 15,000 to 20,000 dollars and that's not a joke. I lost money by trading each of my cars in, and I also was paying on each car.
If I would have had this car from the start and kept it for 3 years I would already have that challenger rt with the money I saved it at least most of it paid off.
I also realized upgrading my car can only make me so happy, and it's not a good feeling knowing you owe a bunch of money on a car that can easily be scratched or ruined.
I learned to be grateful to have a ride and just to get something I can afford that is reasonable.
    So my advice is.
If you are a person who is thinking about getting a car, trading in one, or getting your first. The Impala would make a good first car.
The only thing I heard you need to watch out for is making sure the oil was changed and maintenance is up to date on the vehicle, I heard the ones with the timing chain had issues whenever people neglected the oil changed.
Key word, NEGLECTED. If you get an Impala realize it's not a Honda or Toyota and that you need to get one that has a good maintenance record.
I like cars that have some performance, the Impala is definitely not as fast as that rt I had, but it's fast enough for me to have fun in, and if you wanted to, you could always buy a cold air intake with a tune up.
Wither you want performance or just a car, I think the Impala has a balance of everything a person could want.
Now if you make more money or can afford it, yeah buy your dream car.
With the challenger I got many compliments and it felt awesome, but I also was paranoid everytime it sat in the parking lot when I heard people around it or walking by it, especially when I owed a decent amount on it.
I realized it's DUMB to have a nice car in a bad area. If you're going to get a nicer car, make sure you either live in a good area or have a driveway/garage to protect it.
I was tired of the debt and paranoia so now I'm driving a 2014 impala limited.
I didn't give up on my dream car, I just realized I can get it later and don't need to have it right now.
This is just my advice/opinion as someone who went through cars thinking it would make me feel better.
I don't regret driving this Impala and I don't miss my challenger that much, I think the reason I don't miss it is because I owed a bunch of money on it, it made me paranoid and I couldn't protect it.
The main thing I notice with this Impala is that there is a little delay on the low end when I press the gas, but then you feel the power when you give it some more and it starts going.
I don't have any regrets in terms of power either, I'm still faster than I'd say 70% or more of the cars on the road, most cars are 4cyl anyway or slower V6.
I'm not saying to get one, just giving you my input since I had other cars to compare it to.

Even tho their engines were smaller and lacked on horsepower then the later models, those cars got up in speed and acceleration. Overall, Impalas are and have always been decent cars on an honest note, that's why I've owned 2 of them. People sleep on these cars all the time, you'd be amazed at what these cars can do, especially this one on the video. These particular models are a far cry from the earlier ones. Going from 200 to a 300+ horsepower engine in a family full size sports sedan is insane💯.

@@Likethisjob ...the 3.6 comes standard as the only motor available from 2012-2016 impala and impala limited. The 2006 -2011 had either the 3.5 or 3.9,or the 5.3 in SS form. The 3.6 was an amazing motor and the 6 speed auto was much more durable than the shit eating 4T65 R of previous models. The 2012 up with 300 hp and 6 speed auto were crazy quick stock and got fantastic gas mileage to boot. Anyone who tries to tell you any different is an ill informed idiot. You will run with or even beat any Dodge Charger RT ( Hemi V8's). Now Hellcats will squash it in a straight line but the SS will suprise you none the less.

The new Impalas are very sharp looking cars. Black would be my preference and that is the only color I will own. My personal car is a 08 Buick Lacrosse. Looks very good in black with that nice chrome waterfall grille. The newer Buick Lacrosse is another car you could take a look at. It's a sister car the Impala and Cadilac XTS. So the Impala, Lacrosse and XTS are all on the same platform (epsilon 2 vs older epsilon) just like the older versions of these cars did.

Ok I'll probably stick with Chevy but I've liked the looks of the Dodge Challengers for years but I cant afford them now anyway. I test drove a black 2011 Dodge Avenger in '13 right before I bought the Impala and it had good looking 18 inch silver rims and bigger tires that would be more expensive to buy and it had kind of high miles and a four banger engine so I passed.

    • @bobg69
      @bobg69 Před 6 lety

I hate to admit my brother-in-law is an engineer for Chrysler in Auburn Hills. I don't care for the engineers because they don't understand how it to work on these vehicles. They have been designing some pretty sharp vehicles. The brother-in-law is part of the team working on the RAMS. The problem with Chrysler, is they have too many gremlins popping up here and there. All the manufacturers do have their quirks. GM has had their share, to say the least, but has never left me stranded. I have nothing to say about Fords other than the 80's Escorts were a pile of junk. I will say one good thing about Ford, there is a reason the F150 is the top seller it is. For the four bangers, they make now are nothing to sneeze at. Had a 2.2L in my 07 Malibu that was very spunky in such a heavy car. There was an issue/Safety issue with the electric power steering that GM just blew off. Even though on the highway at 70 MPH the steering wheel would completely lock up for a split second. I'm no small guy and not being able to move that wheel is very concerning. Well when I sold the car, everyone who tests drove it swore it had to be a V6 car. The Challengers have always been a sharp car. I have always wanted a 72 with the Hemi and 4 speed. Just go with what you like and can afford. The old saying, they don't build them like they use to is a good thing. These newer drivetrains will outlast the older ones by a longshot as long as they are maintained properly with the occasional lemon from tme to time.
