These days I choose to sing Rita and Rachel's song: "Mechake" ("Waiting") there is a solid reason for it.
All these years we sang the song, that one day it will happen, and something will open up in us, something will relax us.... and it will come.
Rita knew what she was writing about and I knew what she meant.
And here we are, to those days when it finally happens.
What we wish for, happens to us. Happening to our people. We change, stand up, gather, and unite in a deep way that moves all the separation that ever existed between us. Glues all the tears.
So in the second stanza, I already changed the words to the present tense and at the end of the song as well.
Then I added the broadcast some words from my heart, hoping that the viewers and listeners resonate and identify. ♥️♥️♥️

כשבימים האלה אני בוחרת לשיר את "מחכה" של ריטה ורייכל יש לזה סיבה מוצקה. לא סתם.
כל השנים שרנו את השיר, שיום אחד זה יקרה, ומשהו יפתח בנו, משהו ירגע בנו.... וזה יבוא.
ריטה ידעה על מה היא כותבת ואני ידעתי למה היא התכוונה.
והנה הגענו, לאותם הימים שבהם זה סוף סוף קורה.
מה שייחלנו לו, קורה בנו. קורה לעם שלנו. אנחנו משתנים, קמים, מתקבצים, מתאחדים בצורה עמוקה ככזו שמזיזה את כל הנפרדות שאי פעם היתה בינינו. מדביקה את כל הקרעים.
אז בבית השני כבר שיניתי את המילים להווה ובסיום השיר גם כן.
ואז הוספתי בשידור כמה מילים מהלב, בתקווה שהצופים והמאזינים מהדהדים ומזדהים. ♥️♥️♥️
