    Could've at least given a shout out to the Huron and, at least on one of my games that had four tribes on Plymouth, their ability to build ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY manlets without any shipments to increase native pop. Their improvements aren't half bad either with a time-based manlet shipment, a manlet build pop increase of 200%, and a fishing collection increase. Sure, the manlet itself isn't great, but the ability to potentially flood the map with them is at least worth a shout out.
    Could also make a passionate case for the Klamath and having solid skirms late game given you can increase their attack by 50%, or the Navajo which essentially give you Forest Prowlers that cost no pop. But hey, it's your list.

      The Nootka themselves aren't particularly good though that's more to do with Heavy Infantry being meh rather than the unit itself though even there it's not fantastic. Comanche techs are good but their units are god awful compared to other ranged cavalry. Cheyenne are pricy in villager seconds sure but their techs are extremely good AND their unit having a unique perk of being anti cavalry while being a melee cavalry is huge.

    Combining spice trade with Bhakti’s, berry boost is excellent and would make berry gathering good. India, has a card that makes their paddy upgrade cost no wood so cherokee maps are a good map to remove that in your India deck if you use that. Jesuit 15% villager training time combined with the card is 30% faster training! A good card/native combo.

    @Tareltonlives Před 3 lety +1

    Caribs are really good if you don't have much in the way of raiding units or the raiding units are too expensive. Very good for civs without archers like the Dutch, Russians, Indians and Ottomans
    Bhakti is REALLY good for Japan. You can either add in the berry cards to soak up food, or skip the berry cards to free up your deck
    Cherokee are great for the Portuguese for those extra villagers they need, and the riflemen are really good for civs without skirmishers. I'm very fond of paring them with the British; the British get skirmishers, and the extra villagers amplifies the boom
    Jesuits are really good for booming and tanking. I'm especially fond of using them with Russia and Dutch; the Conquistadors also work really well with Russian armies until you get the Tartar upgrade, and with Germans since their anti-cav units are slow as molasses.
    The Zen is definitely in my top 5: great techs and pretty good units for fighting off raids or for beefing up your light infantry. The Sohei work well with Russia, Iroquois, Japan (natch) and Britain.
    Zapotec are really good for the wood intensive civs like the Chinese and British. Their maps are also water maps, so they really help put up a fleet faster
    Sufi have an awesome native unit. Pilgrimage synchs well with the Indians and Japanese, Sharia with Dutch and French, and all of the techs are perfect for the Turks
    Inca are another great choice; two different units, and great for making big expensive armies. You can rely on the Inca army to protect you while you get the techs and the techs can get you a big army faster
    Cree is definitely in my top 5 too: huge economic boosts and they have a skirmisher. Like the Cherokee they can really boost the British and Japanese boom and round out the units
    The Cheyenne rider is one of my favorite cavalry units, plus the dog soldiers and buffalo techs. Very good for cavalry action.
    I have to say the Comanche and Udasi are great: the Comanche get great cavalry techs AND a gold discount for technology, which pays off in the long run. They really synch well with the Aztecs and Sioux. The Udasi give you an economy boost, buff your explorer a lot, and their unit is basically a no-coin grenadier.
    Vanilla has the Aztecs, which are just awesome with their mill tech, gold tech, and explorer tech.
    Also surprised not to see the Tupi on the list: they have a discount to wood costs and allow to train jaguars, which are basically Spanish war dogs.
    Huron are great for water maps: you can really fish better and then swarm with their siege.
    In terms of units alone, shout out to the Seminoles; a tech allows their super-fast archers to be great against buildings, so they're like cheap ranged Oprichniki.

    In my opinion the simonel and Comanche should be on the list the simonel are verry good VS buildings with a special upgrade at their trading post. The Comanche are verry good for raiding villagers, and against the germans cause they have a lot of ullans, and the Comanche horse archer has 2X damage against cav, and you can train them verry cheap, and verry quickly, their so nice to hit and run with and their counters, mostly pikeman and helbadiers are very slow so you can pick them of from a safe distance, but I mostly agree with your choices keep up the good work!

  • @Peachrocks5
    @Peachrocks5 Před 5 lety

    I did a guide about 10 years ago on Natives comparing them to standard units. The problem with most ranged infantry natives (Carib, Cree etc.) is that they have lower range compared to the standard units and have high HP and lower damage when you really want the other way around. The Tupi DO have this but their range is pitiful and they've got set up time so get massacred. Melee infantry is just... not fantastic in general aside the Inca and that's more because of the speed bonus then the unit themselves. The elephants are rather cost inefficient by calculations, passable if the civ you are playing doesn't have good cavalry or has difficulty making them (China) but yeah. Cheyenne and Inca are definitely very good. Cheyenne's unique tech is insanely busted and back in the day at least it was amazing how many players don't know about it and don't get why their cavalry (ranged or not) get shredded.
    Jesuits can be good as you said if your civ doesn't have Dragoons, but the vil tech is an age 3 tech, that's important to note.

    @gustawana-2446 Před rokem

    Cheyene is definitely effective at cavalry duel vs cavalry, with the Cheyene Fury, since,if purchased, they'll get 2x multiplier attack againts cavalry. Tupi is a great native warrior also. They have long range, and great attack with poisonous arrow. An upgrade can reduce building cost. It is available in amazonia. Comanche is a fast cavalry archer. They have more speed than regular cavalry archer. They are as pacious as dragoon. Cooperating with them can give you some discount on coin upgrade. It is my favourite cavalry archer. Don't forget apache. For player who wishes to raid villager using dragoon like cavalry, apache is your warrior. While dragoon and ruyter, war wagon and cavalry archer has penalty on attacking villager, with an upgrade apache has a multiplier. I often watch player who raids villager using dragoon. Will it be effective?
    I don't think so. I get the idea but think dragoon is not the suitable warrior for it
    Instead of conquistador, I will place apache or comanche on top 10. Navajo rifleman is a native warrior that is much better in executing guerilla war tactics than regular skirmisher, because of their stealth and speed. Player who loves hit and run tactics using skirmisher, navajo rifleman should be their skirmisher.
    Mantlet deserves a place in the top 10 . They are native altilery that razes building and also counter infantry unit as well. They have large hitpoints and They can be train in a very large number. They boost fishing boat,allowing water boom strategy be executed more dramaticallly.
    Mayan Holcan spearman should be on the list replacing sohei.

    incas are probably the first as military unit and diversity provided you just have one native type.
    I don't see why cheyennes are so good, before their up they aren't a very good cav, and I prefer big upgrades such as +50% attack or HP (careab, bhakti...)

      Cheyennes are good basically for the 12 bisonts (huge food buster when there are no more animals left in the map) and for the instant cav. You can spam tons of unit with Just One stable, It's a huge advantage

    I know it's proving to be a bit of a mouthful for you, so I'll give a friendly helping hand and tell you that "Ceylon" is pronounced, "Sih-Lon". :)
