farewell doesn't really have sides like the rest of the levels; it's its own thing, which is why in the journal it only has the bird (and the bird and deaths are both centered and not on any column) probably it was given the c side skull for its difficulty.
I think some people haven't realised that farewell is a c-side (because of the death counter) (atleast i think it is that way)

Farewell does have a lot of dialogue though which is more of an a side thing
The death counter is just a funny little thing added for not much of a reason. The death counter considers it an A side.
