I got the whitest blonde the last time I bleached with almost no damage... because I listened to Brad (except the see a professional part). Started at the back of my head, 30vol, lots of product, tiny sections, no coconut oil, didn’t wash my hair for days before, semi permanent toner on roots only. Next time I bleach I’m filming it and saying thank you Brad!
I've gotten great success bleaching my hair too using Brad's tips, but I go for a honey blonde instead!

Lydia Howard never knew either that bleach is very damaging to the hair I learned it the first time when I bleached it myself ok so first time I did it wasn’t bad and idk I messed up and now half of my hair is dead and now I’m recovering to grow my hair

I destroy my hair because every time I go to a hairdresser and tell them what i want, they do something COMPLETELY different (ask for platinum, get some rando dark af colour). Every. Single. Time. Idk if it's just what they are teaching people in my area, or what, but it's infuriating. I love that Brad gives great advice, though, on the dos and don'ts of bleaching. My hair has grown halfway down my back since starting to watch his videos and following his advice. It's not quite the colour I want yet, but i know what to do now. If there were more hairstylists like him more of us would be willing to not try to go through the trouble of doing it ourselves, trust me on that.
@@gilwen13 yeah I hope that all works out for you lovely but remember these are serious chemicals are we called professionals because we go through almost two years of extensive training for your health and safety alone my best advice to find the best professionals in your area is to call and ask around to figure out which salons have in depth training programs and protocols and also I have had my hair fried off by stylists I considered well more knowledgable than me though so just a matter of taking the proper steps to remove these people from the
industry or keep them on the bottom and to be fully aware someone can fry your hair in 20 minutes flat if they do the wrong thing sometimes it can happen too fast for me someone who's fully capable to even stop
@@karalynniette8536 I respect the time put in to do what y'all do and repeat I have destroyed my hair in the past lol. I don't pretend to know the chemicals, i just know that anything over a 20 developer should never be used on my hair ever. That's what Brad has taught me (in addition to everything else) and it has saved my hair. As for the stylists in my area, Ive had to use "colour oops" (great stuff btw, lifts stubborn color with very little damage) after so many times I've long given up. It's literally every one I've tried and I live in an area with only about 20 salons to choose from. Every one of them the stylists just rent the chairs and have no one to teach them or answer to. That's why my trust has been shot. If i ever save the money to go see Brad, he may be the last stylist I will ever trust with my hair.

I love these videos and Brad's tutorials, i bleached my hair for the first time a couple of weeks ago but didn't get the full lift I wanted on my dark hair, and because of watching these videos I knew what to do and what to absolutely not do.

I have watched SO MANY vids of u. Finally, I was brave enough to highlight my mamas hair and it was SO GOOOOOOOOOD. I took notes and listened and am so PROUD OF MYSELF. Love u Brad. U smart hot beautiful humanbeing!

2) 30 volume
3) gonna take more than one packet
4) cover it so heat lightens it faster.
5) NOT SHAMPOO

6) Don't start applying bleach from the roots
You don't always use 30 volume, most of the time 20 volume is better. If the section you take is thin enough you will get just as light with 20 volume as with 30 volume. 30 volume just speeds up the process and is more damaging to the hair. And you should shampoo it after you rinse the bleach out. Then it's stops the color process.
@@richellevanlisdonk 30 volumes is necessary to dark brown and black hair like my own. For a person with lighter hair 20 is enough.
@@larissam.2299 It depends on how many times you colored it, if you are a natural level 4, you can get very light with 20 volume if you take thin sections. I always use 20 volume on my own hair, its colored many many times on a level 4. But it depends on the hair also. This Will not work for everybody.
@@richellevanlisdonk it's always better to use a 20 cause it damages less but I'm a level 2 with thick hair so I need to use a 30 for the colors I like :/

What really bothered me was that he talked like this Is a tutorial how to bleach hair - he already messed it up the first time, but till the end he had enough confidence to talk like he's the 'expert'

Maybe he wanted to do experiments himself? That's what makes the fun in experimenting, doing it yourself.
Sure every kid could go to a lab or physicist or electrician and have them do a more efficient way of bringing a lightbulb to glow, but the fun is in experimenting yourself, getting the batteries and wires work together, doing circuits, etc.

I actually bleached my own hair at home using quick blue and 30v developer from Sally's Beauty and it turned out pretty good. I bleached it twice in one day and i got my dark brown hair to platinum blonde with very little damage. The only mistakes I think I made is I should have mixed up a second package during the first bleaching BC I ran out of bleach to up on the top, I may have been able to get it light enough in one bleaching if I had, or gotten it even lighter with the 2nd bleaching. Also I dont think i left the toner in long enough because when I was done there was still a tiny bit of yellow but I was out of toner to get rid of it. Either way it turned out great at half the cost of a salon
