context: 'fuga' in title is referring to the game fuga: melodies of steel. in fuga a core mechanic is being able to use a massively overpowered laser weapon as a last resort since it requires the sacrifice of a playable character of your choice to power it (mind you they are all children). the child Heavy is presenting is the youngest out of the roster and the ones western players love to use as ammunition first
It will always throw me off to hear the Fuga game in japanese a bit since i remember playing the second game and it was all in french. And the first game had the infamous 90s voice acting too so I prefer the french voice overs.
The Soulcanon is on paper completly forgetable becuse all bosses can be beaten totatly fine without it. But its presence alone raises the tention. Its a strong reminder that these childrens lifes are on the line. And I like it fore that but I am not a fan of jokes about murdering children.
@@6eyesandhooves595 I did not say its bad. I like that its not neccesary. It would suck if it was. But its presence raises the tention. I actully think its great the way it is. Meybe I worded my previoues comment wrong and it left the wrong impresion. How would you change that mechanic?
@@6eyesandhooves595 I also hope there is an ending whenever all children survive and it should not be as easily miseable in a blind playthrough as in the first game. Meybe tying it to an optional but hard to miss super boss would be a good idea. I hope Fuga 2 has an optional super boss. That is one thing the first game really misses. But it should be a boss that is still doable on a normal playthrough. I dont like new game plus.
@@sofaris576 I think it would be better to take away the direct option of sacrificing and instead make it automatic but still dependant on player`s actions like in "interactive movie" games. Or leave it like that but force the sacrifice instead of returning to the chechpoint after losing a bossfight.

Why, yes. The Soul Cannon's gameplay implementation is not as great as on paper, and I hope the sacrificing mechanic will be reworked in Fuga 2.
