Hii !! When you clean your LECA the first thing you should do is clean with dish soap to disinfect any bacteria or dirt, once you have cleaned the LECA you should boil it for a couple of minutes to sterilize the clean LECA. I am a doctor and in the hospital we do the same process for instrumental surgery. Do not forget that you are dealing with living beings like plants and you might think that it is too much, but it is worth it because it seems fresh from the factory 100% sterilized.
If you don't want to have dust in your container in two weeks and clean it again, it is better to do it all at once and it will no longer release dust, except if you boil it again, then you already have to rinse
I just knew you would spill the Leca, because every time I open a bag that big (usually cat food) it ends up on the floor 😁. GREAT video ⭐

When you pot me a in a planter that’s not see through how do you keep track of the water level?

I get some people saying that we should sanitize by boiling, but we just use the soil the way we but it and I can’t see what the difference is. I thought the cleaning was just to remove the extra dirt.
It is solely for removing dirt. Idk what that sanitizing mess is about lol

As I mentioned B4,. Use a cup of some size to scoop out the Leca,. And yes I saw ur video stating someone suggested using a cup,. Yup that was ME. But I see u choose not to use a cup,. So that was twice u lost Leca on the floor.

Aw thank you! I honestly have been re-using all my Leca because it’s so expensive! lol I use to have a semi-hydro store in my city but it shut down 🥲 so I’ve been boiling my Leca and it literally smells like frogs 🤣

Im not sure if you made a video on this but do you have any suggestions on cleaning leca once youve been using it for a while. I’ve tried just running water through the leca without moving the plant out but eh not the most effective way lol
Do you mean cleaning it while the plant is still in it? Or cleaning dirty Leca to reuse?
