Buddha himself spent a luxurious life after enlightenment. Budism is not about luxury or non luxury. Those are relative stuff to the person. If happiness is a state of mind then why do you guys always try to judge things from the outside. Budism is not about the outside world. Avoiding luxury is the same as attaching to it. If you are wise enough you will understand what I say.

Madam, I believe you are a catholic. if I were to converse with your a little bit more on the subject, Have you heard of the vows taken by the Catholic Carmelite nunsThis order was established in the year 1200? These catholic sisters live a sheltered life (cloistered) generally away from the public, in enclosed monasteries like the Forest Monks. Carmelites Nuns, observe papal enclosure and live in silence and solitude, retaining the eremitical (hermit-like) spirit of our first Fathers on Mount Carmel while participating in a strong and joyful community life as a family. I am not comparing the doctrine of the two orders, only the purpose. there are similarities, solitude, silence, dedication & purpose. imagine a catholic priest or a nun for that matter becoming a tour guide. Meditation is a deep subject with a purpose. Meditation trains the mind to create awareness, in order to achieve a mentally clear state, free from unwholesome thoughts. This could be done in solitude by understanding life and the doctrine enshrined in the four noble truths. My humble request is, do not try to compare the mission or dedication of a "forest monk",, to a lay person or even to a person wearing a yellow robe, who is a tour guide.

If we develop our mind we can see the danger of this life and cycle of life. Seeing this danger will be more helpful to see nirvana. There are many things that are invisible to our normal eye. This Ritigala forest is one of the places in Sri Lanka I love the most and I've never ever been in to the deep forest as you did. But, I visited the area where it opens for the visitors twice within a very very short period as I felt that peacefulness in my head to toe when I visited this amazing area. Its so piecefull and you can really feeling relax in that area. I really wondered how cooler the area though it is situated within a burning like area at Polonnaruwa.
We are doing a race everyday and trying to conquer each others. But the most important thing is to conquer our self. This is the most important lesson I learnt from my visit there.
As a foreigner, you must really proud of you as you covered an area which a local person even cannot imagine to come. When I will be in Sri Lanka I will definitely visit these caves. Its so interesting and thanks for sharing this video.❤

The following are as for my knowledge. Hope it helps. 😊
The monk repeatedly said that the body is not mine. That is because the body is not something which we can control. Buddhism teaches that the body is not something which we can control as we desire. The body is home to sicknesses, with time it gets old and our hair turns white and we grow weak. No human would prefer that but we can’t stop it.
Also, the monk opened his right arm it is an act of respect. During this time of Lord Buddha when monks and lay men came to visit Lord Buddha they uncovered the right arm to show respect.
Also when you are scared you can even utter ‘Namo Buddhaya’ which means Homage to Lord Buddha in Pali which is the Language of Lord Buddha. There are many instances in our religion how people were saved from both seen and unseen beings by saying ‘Namo Buddhaya’ because Lord Buddha is the King and Lord of Humans and Gods and He is true and powerful. So when saying this with great devotion to Lord Buddha the person is protected because no one troubles a true disciple of Lord Buddha who has undoubted faith in Lord Buddha. Also during the time of Lord Buddha people great each other saying Namo Buddhaya. You can say Namo Buddhaya before having your meals, before starting to work, when greeting monks and nuns, before going to sleep. Say it with great and undoubted faith in Lord Buddha and you will feel blessed!
Stay blessed! Namo Buddhaya! May the Noble Triple Gem always guide you, protect you and bless you always. May you too get opportunities to engage in meritorious deeds, listen to true preachings of Lord Buddha and be free from the endless cycle of rebirth, suffering and death! 🙏

36:13 was one of my favourite monastery in srilanka, the thing I learnt from the monks living in forests is they know the special chantings (pirith) which gives their body a micro Electric waves which we cannot see to human eyes (beyond 60 Hz) but the animals can see to their vision and they don't stay near that Electric Wave and they move out from the walkways even..
May you find the path to nibbana 🖤

You are so lucky to closely associate those monks. They are like gems. You only add good things to your life with their frindship. No any bad things. Simple life, step by step they reach to Nirvana. You can try to get permission from chief monk there and stay there several days OR a few weeks and do some meditation and improve your spiritual power of your mind. It will help you to reach Nirvana or born in a good place after die ❤

In jungle, Fear kills, not animals, kindness protects. I've survived a bear attack, in a wild jungle. I can't say I survived, cz she chased me and when she get near to me turned away and ran away in the same speed, I saw her a few inches near to me, like a shadow, coming down the hill in her full speed, legs moved like a machine. everybody else thought I was finished, The whole incident took a few seconds, and that was in my first jungle march with my elder brother, who is a veteran. I don't know why that happened, but I can say I really love and respect the nature. I don't fear anything. Even that attack, I was not scared, I knew nothing is gonna happen. I don't share this story with no one. But hope good to share with you while watching this.
