@@cbcmusic I was and it was amazing. Stars doing Set yourself on fire was a great choice. The sound was loud and clear. Alvvays sounded great. One of the best concerts I been to in years. Wished I saw Cardin and Coeur de Pirate.

Something about that vocal alteration from the original at 1:09 gets me every time. This performance seems to hit harder than the studio version. Just as good rock should.

Discovered this band a few weeks ago and I have to say Antisocialites is helping me through a lonesome lockdown. And this song feels like a sea breeze on a scorching hot day - amazing sound live too.

I think that is just the new drummer being better than the old one. She hasn't recorded an album with them yet, I think, so maybe we'll see more stuff like this in the next album.
@@i_dont_know_who_i_am69 she's been touring w them for a little while now. like a little bit before this album cycle. but even when she first started playing with them, she wasn't doing fills like this. she was keeping it more like the record and tame. I'm sure its the rest of the band getting more comfy with her (and the other drummers in the past) and them finally being like okay you can cut loose a little more. I just need this same energy on the records and less of the metronome-style drumming that's currently on there
Either that or she's had little experience in a group or in front of crowds before joining up with them. Being in a good group and performing regularly can drastically speed a musician's evolution. She certainly seems more energetic now, as well. It's a good sign.

Pretty difficult if you take into account that most of alvvays songs are kind of dream pop or shoegaze.

La mejor cancion que he escuchado en mucho tiempo, los conoci recien por una sugerencia de spotify, descubri una hermosa gran banda, me encanta cada una de sus canciones, espero verlos en vivo algun dia

Me pasó igual, pero acá, cuando al algoritmo de CZcams se le ocurrió dejar de holgazanear. Me causaron casi lo mismo que cuando escuché a Cocteau Twins.
De igual manera similar me sucedió, fué en un verano del 2020 durante el periodo de la contingencia sanitaria del COVID-19, ingresé a CZcams por pura causalidad y de repente me aparecieron videos musicales recomendados por CZcams, fué que me tomé un momento para ver dichos de vídeos de aquélla banda, fué lo más sublime que mis oídos llegaron a escuchar en aquél instante, ojalá tuviera la dicha de verlos en directo para escuchar y disfrutar sus canciones.
Yo cuando descubri a alvvays estuve meses escuchandolos en bucle.
