Women’s vault - Simone’s coach is there to spot her and ensure he can step in if it looks like she will hurt herself. It is a safety decision. Please don’t say he shouldn’t have been there - it has nothing to do with Simone’s performance and makes light of how much good coaches care about the health of their athletes.

IMHO the Korean vaulter deserved gold, followed by Andrade silver and Moreno in the 3rd...it's ridiculous that you miss one jump and you're still in contention for the world title...same on 2012 in London with McKayla Maroney who missed the second vault and still got silver...in the old system, which started from 10, you missed a vault or did a big mistake you were out from the medal contention, rightfully so.

I can see why you feel that way. However, difficulty is a more fair scoring system. It makes the score more nuanced. If it was a 10 scoring system, more athletes would just do the easier things they knew they could perfect, and you would see more ties. 😉

Comment lang kagabi, sorry nairita po ako sa rant ninyo, Yung Simone Biles sadya po na nadun ang coach maski magincur ng deduction na half a makr , malaki naman ang difficulty. At sanay na si Biles dun at di nakakadistract sa kanya yun. Ang reason nun is to spot her kasi super dangerous ng vault na yun na performed by men. Siya po sasalo if nakita niyang may masamang mangyayari--sobrang delikado n
ng vault na yn she could break her neck. get injured or evern worse.

Wala na sya kay Coach Mune kasi sabi sa article sa Malaya na may unnamed source fr GAP na Carlos did not like it when coach Mune told him that his GF was affecting his training kaya Carlos decided daw to part ways with coach Mune. Ms Cynthia confirmed that it was Carlos decision. So I hope Carlos will learn his lessons. He has less than a year to sort out his priorities if it’s his GF or Olympic gold.
