  • Neat little motor but needs at least 3s to be potent, 4s would be good and 5s would make it run great!! I don't think warranty would be honored on 5s. Links below to get this motor for yourself

    I love your videos! because of your testing videos I'm running a MG959 servo and a GT5 Remote on my Enduro build. the videos made the difference. this is another example of your videos of crawler products that do not break the bank for performance .

    The Crawlmaster Pro 20T on 4s was my "go-to" at one time before I went totally brushless....it was a slow transition and started with a sensored Revolver....now most my rigs and my two Son rigs are Revolver's. With a few Puller Pro's and one of Tom Asher's ACIS SIX. But the ACIS is coming out for another Holmes motor.

      lol yeah I get a few hours sleep a few times a week. Actually I have two videos recorded but need to finish up showing the build of my course and setting a course for comps. Just gotta finish the edit on them, maybe next week unless I get that new Gen8 Axe...That would be priority.

      @@ExocagedRC As the Gen8 Axe should be :) I'm not one of those tree huggers (or maybe I am) but just looking for a way to set up a coarse that doesn't have a negative impact on nature. I love the ecosystem I get to experience in my front yard and would never take that for granted. BTW thanks for all the awesome info. I still feel new to the hobby but guys/gals like you make this hobby amazing.

      Jeremy Baity in my yard the concrete isn’t an issue, I have deer in my yard almost every evening. If nature it perfect where you are then look for a trail with tree roots and natural climbs. Some light clearing may be all you need to do.

    Exocaged, Great Videos as always. So can you do a comparison video so we can see the visual differences between this motor and a trailmaster or a torquemaster? or even stock can's like you have done in the past. Also can you compare it on the same crawl points to a stock can and a high end can? I am not sure that you always need more than a $20 motor for crawling and it would be great to see some videos exploring that thought. the high cost is not always necessary perspective.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      David Banaszak interesting. I’ll have to see what I have that’s comparable. I don’t have any torque masters or magnum motors to compare too. Which motor and vehicle are you interested in?

    • @davidbanaszak562
      @davidbanaszak562 Před 4 lety

      @@ExocagedRC well a magnum for start, they are waiting on cans to build more magnums at HH right now so, a crawlmaster pro and expert would be a good start even a comparable Castle or Tekin motor. and, even though brushless vs brushed isn't a real comparison for this entry level motor, a revolver would be cool to compare to.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      David Banaszak I have a revolver but until we get a brushless esc with adjustable PWM I won’t run it. Yeah I asked him to save me an 11t Magnum a few weeks ago as he was out at that time. So I put the 550 in. LoL. But I think the best 540 on the market is the Magnum but at $160 or so, most people will go brushless.

      HH Trailmaster is a trail motor works best on the trail. I have one in my AE Enduro with a HW1080 and it is awesome!. For a steering servo go with a MG959 intergy servo great power and half the price of the SAVOX.. BTW, the SAVOX 1210 is a great servo I have one in my TRX-4 Defender.. It will strip out the plastic servo arm like nothing.. make sure you use the traxxas metal servo arm or a high end aftermarket servo arm. the MG959 servo is reviewed by exocaged check his video's.. His review was reason enough for me to use it in my enduro. it is awesome for the price.. not a HV servo or waterproof, but I have no need for more than what the HW1080 can put out so far... it works great on 6.5 so does the savox 1210.

    Would you ever do a comparison with the Holmes sealed can Sport motors (either trailmaster or crawlmaster) vs something like the Austar / Surpass rebuildable motors?
    I've been running a 15t 550 3 slot motor in my TRX-4 for a while and it's great, but i'm going to try the 10t 550 Surpass motor and see it compares maybe to the Trailmaster Sport 550, 21t i have although it's a bit different as it's 3 slot sealed vs 5 slot rebuildable.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      hardcoretam I did a video with the Surpass 13t and esc. One of the reasons I stay with Holmes is I’ve not had an issue, he is based in the USA and his motors are competitive on prices.

    • @hardcoretam
      @hardcoretam Před 4 lety

      @@ExocagedRC I seen that one. For me in the UK the surpass motors are cheaper priced due to the way they're imported. Roughly half the cost for one vs a sealed Holmes. John's a good guy and an asset to the hobby for sure. I just wish someone would work with John to distribute them over here. I really want to try one of the 5 slot sports he's selling now like this in your superlight.

      @ExocagedRC  Před 4 lety

      hardcoretam the sports are good motors but not worth the hassle for you where you are. The surpass did ok in a normal rotation truck but not so well in the reverse rotation trx. If the surpass stuff works for you then by all means save that money for a nice lunch after an RC trip.
