Linklater is a director that never ceases to surprise and delight. Hes one of my favorite filmmakers, but Hit Man on paper sounded a bit generic. So happy to hear this is a real gem! Fantastic review Luke! 😊
My thoughts exactly! I wasn’t wowed by the initial premise but 5 mins in I was on the hook and having so much fun with this film. So great to see the reactions at TIFF are also overwhelmingly positive. X
@@LukeHearfield With Netflix purchasing it, I think it's part of the 2024 slate now. I really hope Netflix SERIOUSLY CONSIDERS a wide theatrical release maybe an early summer May release at least for 45 days to get a "box office hit" tag for Linklater, Powell and Arjona and build an Oscar campaign from then on!
It makes 0 sense to me on how this movie has not found distribution yet. I haven't even seen it, but I've seen the reviews of people I respect (including you) and it's mind-blowing.
Apparently Netflix bought it for 22 millions
I know Adria Arjona from the series Irma Vep, an amazing series that explores the state of art and went under the radar, recommend to anyone
did u watch 'stolen',it was at orizonti section in venice festival?
saw this last night on the last day of lff and had a blast
Richard Linklater don't miss! The Before Trilogy and Boyhood...c'mon now! Adding this on my list...if it's available for this year or next year based on distribution choice.
Certainly one not to be missed. And defo best watched with a crowd. There was so much joy in the room in venice.
Sounds amazing. Can’t wait to watch it
I booked us tickets to see it at the LFF because we have no clue when this film is getting distributed. It’s worth watching early at the festival. Xx
I think you forgot to put the link to your written review on the description, please let me know, I'm interested 👀
Oh you’re right, just added it now. They’re pretty similar tbh. I basically used it as a script and then did my segment on Oscar predictions.
@@LukeHearfield thank you! I'm a reader person 🦉
I will see it, but it maybe take a while. I don't know when is coming to my country
There’s no information on its distribution yet anywhere. But after it’s festival circuit I’m sure they will want to get this movie out. Hope you enjoy it when you do see it x
Dude, you're giving away the whole damn plot ... I stopped watching.
Sorry I was very careful not to give any spoilers away. I wouldn’t want to spoil this delightful film for anyone. X
