Never take your guitar for a setup at gc. that was your first mistake.

I agree, and if it were an instrument I love and have had for a long time, I wouldn’t have. I’ve actually never taken any instrument to any store chain for repair now that I think about it.
Considering I’d just purchased it from GC, I felt it best to have them take care of it so that if something was wrong with the guitar, or if I decided I no longer wanted it in the following weeks, I would be able to get all of my money back.
I’m glad I decided to do it that way because I was very close to taking it back for a refund, until I found that temporary solution to the string issue.
