You did a full video on this a few years ago and it was a gamechanger for me. Hope it helps as many people as possible
"head up chest up" que really helped me with this
How?
@@ThatOneGuyWhatsHisName I had a tendency to look down and would cause me to sometimes pitch forward. Coming up from the hole with head up chest up in mind, causes me to drive my upper back into the bar more, keeping me more upright.
Gonna try that out.
Actually true 👍 I "try" to do this, depths 🔑
I just started doing this, it does help… I kind of think of the sitting back to where you want you squat to start and end… if you start super straight odds are you won’t end there because your hips have to break so put yourself in the position where you can come up and down straight but your bodies hip and knee are allowed to break… it’ll feel like your bending your knees but really if you watch on video it just assures your positioning…
Also core stability and pushing traps back into the bar helps also. Powerlifter here also..😉
what are some ways you train your core for strength? crunches and bodyweight stuff doesnt seem to help
@@redditrecapped744 I like front squats as your core has to be on point to not fall forwards and drop the bar.
Some strongman stuff like heavy farmer's walks or other carries with a lot of weight can give your obliques and mid abs a hell of a workout.
Personally I find that pause or deficit deadlifts also works the core quite a bit.
Keeping your head up and facing forward should help too
Especially for long legged squatters like myself. A lot of people still think everyone should squat with a perfectly upright torso and that if you aren’t, you need to lower the weight and work on mobility til it’s perfect. In reality, usually best to just accept and control some forward lean, making sure our torso is stable / rigid rather than just as vertical as possible
Long legged dude here as well. The thing that has helped my squat the most is trying to get my knees as far over my toes as possible. It forces me to slow down and it allows me to be much more upright. It also allows me to get more quad activation. Not that you asked but if you haven’t tried that it might make squats easier, it made them easier for me (6 foot 3)
This technique has been a game changer in my squat
Good stuff man!
Super helpful ty bryce 😊
Box squats helped me with this
Bryce taught me this cue on the CBB app, and it's helped my squat immensely
Let’s go calgary
Thanks for the tip
How do you do that?
I've been saying y'all it's not the correct thing. You are bending forward prolly because you have a long femur. It's natural to bend forward. And if you have a long femur, look down while squatting and let you have a natural bend forward and embrace the core after doing McGill Big 3. Also work on your anke mobility if it's the issue
Unless you are a Chinese weightlifter your notta gonna Squat super upright
Mark rippetoe literally has been saying this for the longest time, keep your butt back, nipples facing the floor and eyes looking at the ground. Just keep the torso angle the whole lift, dont waste energy moving your hips.
In other word use them GLUTES
take the belt off and front squat. your back squat will go up not even back squatting.
Lmao you can hear the knee crackle and pop
Ill give you guys a better tip. Instead of squatting just do 5 sets of bench. Thank me later
that’s too deep lol
Do you get a lot of hate as a transgender lifter?
Is this a transvestite???

Is this a shehe?
are you?
@@jilletdelphine nah. But this thing talks like a female, has female mannerisms , and like looks like a female. I'm confused.
@@NickyVEE89 Perhaps you should have your eyes and ears checked out.
@@NickyVEE89It is very disrespectful to refer to a human being, just like yourself, as “this thing”. If you want your question answered, first learn how to ask respectfully. Bare minimum requirement.
