Interpol had one of the best bassists in indie rock. Carlos D is the one that made me want to play bass in a band, his basslines in the first two albums are just amazing. I hope more people get to watch your videos so they can learn and play some good interpol stuff!

@@SilentAttackTV Guy was such a wet blanket yet such a genius bassist and a fashion icon. Proof that all geniuses are eccentric to a degree. I mean who wouldn't want to play cards with Robert Smith or be happy to be a massive star in the second biggest indie band after The Strokes (yet not so famous that you can't get groceries without getting mobbed)???

that looks so fun! i very recently started to wonder if i might like learning how to play bass because i realized its usually my favorite component of a song - it makes it sound so rich. my guitarist bf offered to help me buy a cheap one and this will be the first song i'll be learning, along with some others i already chose (i have no concept of whats difficult or easy when playing bass so that will be a fun ride)

Interesting take. Rocksmith just released this song as DLC. There version has Drop D tuning. Sounds largely the same for the most part.
Carlos Dengler always playing in drop D, most of their songs are has that deep Eb or D, but that song isn't. :) It's perfectly working in standard E. :)
The fingering is probably a little easier using Drop D tuning. At this point I need another two basses to cover the majority of tunings I seem to use.

Carlos is always playing in drop D, you can also play this song in that tuning, but it can be played in standard tuning as well and I think it's easier in this way. That's why I'm playing it in this tuning! :)
