- Another day at Vince's U-Pull in Marcy, NY. I went to look for Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ steering parts, but ended up finding a few bonified classis to check out. One was a 1965 Ford Mustang which could have been a Barret Jackson car if someone hadn't burned it to the ground. Very sad to see, but an interesting find in the u-pull. The rest of my day was spent looking for WJ, ZJ and XJ Jeeps....

Always interesting stuff to see. I currently own 2 WJ's,99 & 04, so really into those. Irritating tick in the 04, 4.7. Already replaced several upper end parts. Oh well.

I was also thinking, "Why in the world is he looking for a tie rod in the junk yard? Just get an aftermarket one online - there's boatloads of options." I know I've done it, too. Light bulbs, for instance 🙄
I'm also now dailying a WJ for the first time in my life. Put new head gaskets on her. 232k miles and running like a champ! Just put a Thrush on her today. Lovin that rig!
The Pick 'n' Pulls in Calfornia always seem to have 5 or 10 Grand Cherokees. They don't salt the roads, and it only snows in the mountains, so you rarely see frame rot, and not much body rot either, unless they lived by the beach or up in the redwoods.
Good to see you bud ! The Patriot has a major Achilles heel, the CVT automatic transmission. It’s an absolute POS, like most CVT are. If you can find a five speed, it’s not a bad little Rig.
I have been looking for a 5 speed. They aren't easy to find in NNJ

Man, that xj had the infinity tweeters on the front doors, wood grain trim panels, sunroof, and leather seats. Some valuable stuff. All on a tow rig no less lol.

Yes ZJ's are getting very hard to find in the yards these days. More WJ's than anything up here so I might look into one this next year.
Yes, more videos can’t wait and I had a liberty once then the trans went no one wanted to fix the trans 😢 and I also do believe the Chrysler 300 when it first came out they weren’t going for or after Cadillac. It was more like the RR Phantom is what they mocked it up as.
Sucks that place is so 4 hours away. I would drive 2 hours not 4 , that sport front end I need it terribly bad . Can’t find em around.

If it doesn't have solid front and rear axles I wouldn't buy it
For the patch put a leather backer rubber cement them together sew it on or stich the border then stich it on you can also put a whip stitch border that might look better

I wonder how junk yards of the south are. The salt belt ate XJs and WJs 10ish years ago, but I wonder if they're still ubiquitous in junk yards south of the Mason dixon
You should checkout MartinBuilt's yard video. He is on the desert so totally different experience. UV damage seems to be their biggest issue
Our junk yard here in southwest VA is hit-or-miss. We are high enough up in the mountains that we usually get one to two really good snows per year. Otherwise, the trucks here don't see a lot of road salt. But we also are close to WV and those trucks get rotted out like all get-out.
I can usually find 4-5 good, solid WJs in our yard here. And 2-3 rotted out ones. I'd love to visit a yard in like SC or GA though lol
I know you probably wont see this but yes Nokia makes tires technically. They are a separate division called Nokian tyres and back in the day they used to be a part of Nokia who you most likely know from the phones.
Only things they take out of ex cop cars are the radio and lights, most used police cars around here still have the spot lights and dividers left in them
I might eventually talk myself into selling or trading my current beater '05 Chevy Colardo 4X4 pickup for a Liberty if I could find one that was in decent running condition. as long as it was a true 4X4.

That's incorrect the 1984 Corvette was the 83 concept car which was ready too late in the year so they decided to skip 83 and release it in 84 also it was the worst Corvette they ever made in my wife's opinion😂
20 patriots is a lot. im still conviced that they should have named the patriot the cherokee. put them side by side and they are almost the same dimension and shape. kept it a nice 4x4 system and a 3.6, also i have a 13 WK2 overland and absolutly love my saddle leather interior, shame to see one in the yard, but good luck on the purse you make out of it
