great short video, as a player since 2017 and big fan of competitive RL for the entire time, it was amazing to watch these guys come together and do what they did best. That Vitality win was the sickest NA title of all time. Nothing but love for the bros
NRG fan for years now. Let's not act like the players passed away yall. Just a rough last 2 seasons. But if you're a die hard fan like me then you have watched every game, and you know that they just as easily could have won 75% of those losses. "THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE" and "WE ARE NRG"!
I love all the players individually but they absolutely could not have. Times change.
Finally, someone said it! At least 70% of those games were 1 GOAL GAMES.. and probably 40% of those 1 GOAL GAMES WERE OT. They’re still a great team, they mainly just gotta adapt to taking more boost
@@carsonbruinink6434ngl in the last two regionals, they got top 4 and then the next regional they played good but lost to the literal winners of the whole regional. They played well against furia in that series too, just got seriously unlucky all day. Hitting the post so many times and stuff. Before that tho, nah they were ass lol. They (in particular, Garrett, not his fault but it’s true) were playing too passively on defence which made their midfield challenges non-existent so they were conceding way more compared to when they were good
@@TheCreator1875 They got one top 4 against teams that were all slumping. The other 2 regionals they didn't even look competitive. They can't consistently challenge teams in the top 8. There's nothing unlucky in the game, you either miss the net or you don't. Time to move on
@@carsonbruinink6434 they beat 2 teams that made the major and one team that narrowly missed out? Watch the games and compare how they played in those to their previous games. A clear improvement. That’s not even cope that’s just a fact

as sad as it is this had to happen at some point where the legends we idolized and that got us into the game get passed by the new upcoming talent and fall behind. But we will always remember the good times we had watching them and will always support them no matter what. ♥
With every end comes a new beginning. RLCS has changed so much since I started watching in RLCS X, but I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of these guys at the top level next season.
I love this team and have done since season 4, but I ultimately feel that I will end up following Garrett because he's such a hero in my eyes and is for so many others. (if he does move that is).
I was in every single season they play the more i get happy when they win the more i get tears when they loose i didn't believe my eyes when they lost the spring major invitation to. I missed them always they are at the top of my heart. Good video.❤

This NRG have cemented themselves as full on legends in this scene, shame they had to go downhill, but rocket league changes too quickly for some, but they'll be known as the best for that period of time, as a g2 supporter, i respect NRG and am excited to see whats to come, although we've lost a few greats this year ... Turbo, cjcj, torment to name a few, who knows what direction these guys will take
Just learning about RL competitive and damn from placing to 1-3 all the time to then just 9-12th must've hurt them mentality wise doing that time

This is something that Garrett mentioned in one of his videos, where they haven't been performing very well, and its because of how much the recent playstyle and pace of the game has sped up overall at the pro level. He was talking about how NRG is an old team so they haven't quite adjusted yet with all of the new players, playstyles, and adjustments they need to make to stay competitive, but when they do they'll be competitive again. I have a lot of hope for them as they're all very skilled players, and when NRG adjusts like Garrett said, they'll be able to compete properly at the international level.
They've been saying this for ages, time to face reality :(

i saw this coming at the end of the winter major this year and i now think hole heartedly that NA could rival EU coming in to the next season as we can finally see some young and upcoming stars that have been slept on because NA dose not take in that many younger players

I can already see the youtube docs "NRG greatest team ever!" if they can managed to get into worlds and win again(with the same roster). From RLCS biggest stars to the biggest disappointments just to come back and prove to everyone they still have what it takes would be such a rollercoaster of emotions. I'll be waiting NRG...for however long it takes!

@@carsonbruinink6434the skill ceiling has rocketed since they were at peak and they just haven't got in their locker, what so many other teams have, when you've got zen, monkey moon, vatira, first killer, atomic, yanxzx, appjack, beast mode, crr, atow, oski, rise, even 2 piece, so much more mechanical than all of NRG, it was only a matter of time before their counter attacking play style screwed them up

@@carsonbruinink6434 jack 1000000% is, and rise is very good competitively and can peak with mechs I'd say are better than Justin, his mechs were amazing for their time, but loads of players caught up and took over, Justin hits some nice reads and redirects, the odd flip reset, but nothing like the skill ceiling we're currently at

Nrg are awesome talented and smart players who were on top of the game for a while and sat on they're talent and fame because they were fan favorites every single game they played in which is very rare in any sport/game. They made great money with channels/sponsors and wins so they just thought they didn't have to change anything. New players emerged griding like crazy hours while nrg were sipping margaritas in the jacuzzi and new players with the excessive grinding just outclassed those old legends by a BIG margin. Ill stick with them till the end but i do know its taking things for granted who ultimately might have ended they're careers. Super nice guys i wish them the best and even a bounce back to the top but they would need ALOT more grinding and i think at theyr age/point of theyr carreer it might not happen.

There's a saying in Cambodia - "New wave pushes the old wave" something like that. Players are getting faster and crazier reaction time, ground, air, mechanics, etc. It's sad to be a fan of each and invidiual for a long time. And now we might see these legends retire. At least I got to witness all their prime.

each individual players on NRG are still top tier its the fact that they dont have the synergy the used to have at the start
also the fact that the skill ceiling and way of playing did improve drastically therefore NRG was caught lacking behind but when they eventually caught up it was a bit late

If jstn is jstn - jstn is not prime jstn who's a fair share above pros.
Only S Tier pros right now are probably Zen, Vatira, MonkeyM00n, Firstkiller, Atow, Seiiko, Alpha
They were never behind tbh. Their play style changed tho, and with that change came a drop off. Garrett became less aggressive and their rotation became too cookie cutter and predictable. Suddenly Garrett becomes the aggressive first challenge again when the ball is coming into their half and they get a top 4 lol
