Turning Vitiligo Into My Superpower | Aastha Shah | Josh Talks

  • Aastha Shah did not let vitiligo define her identity. She is someone many people look up to. She's not just an Instagram influencer; she's also a smart financial analyst at one of India's top banks. But life wasn't always easy for Aastha. She had a rare skin condition called vitiligo, which made her look different from others.
When Aastha was young, she had to take lots of medicine because of her skin condition. It made her childhood harder than it should have been. People in society would make fun of her, and even her friends and family's comments hurt her confidence.
But Aastha didn't give up. She realized that she shouldn't let her appearance decide how she felt about herself. This was a big turning point for her. Instead of letting vitiligo bring her down, she focused on doing well in school and later, in her job.
Aastha also found a way to use social media for good. She started talking about vitiligo and how it's okay to be different. She wanted to show others that having vitiligo or any other condition doesn't make them any less valuable.
Her story is inspiring because it shows that you can overcome challenges and achieve your dreams, no matter what you look like or what others say about you. If you want to learn more about Aastha's journey and how she turned her struggles into strengths, you should definitely check out her talk on Josh Talks. It's a story of courage, resilience, and the power of believing in yourself.

She is strong because she has evenly spread all over body. And she is in a country that defines beauty by fairness of the skin. Getting inspired by these people is just BS. I hope people dont follow richies and get inspired by these kind of influences. Doesnt anyone wonder why she was this much confident when she didnt have evenly spread. She got confident when that became her power "indian benchmark of beauty" fairness.

      Otherwise people suffering with vitiligo
Don't get any compensation from the society and from these median house
They know people like these kind of stories like I was ugly now I am good looking so don't be shame for being ugly
I was poor very poor and then I become millionaire so don't be shame for being poor
Bro i am 5feet 3 inch tall it's not my fault i am not 6 but people don't understand this 1am 20 and i am to carry this hight throughout my life
And people society they are what they were I laughed when people on social media and good looking influencers compensate us by saying that Sachin Tendulkar is short Jacki Chan is short
😂😂 Who tell these gays that everyone with 5feet 3 inch or relatable hight cannot be Sachin Tendulkar
Even if u asked Sachin and others back than than they want to be 6 feet they will surely say yess
I have gone through girls rejecting me coz of my hight , many rejection , and social taught like if you talk to a new person 3rd or 4th topic of discussion will be my hight surely
You will find video of young healthy sexy female influencers on yt they support girl for being obese but they are the same who in other video say guys who are less than 5feet 10 not worth of dating

She did happen to get lucky to get the very rare 100% Vitiligo coverup as unlike her and including me; 99% of us out there who have Vitiligo have it in patches and dear lord is it such a menace to live with in today's society.
But anyways, with age you gain wisdom; if I were in her shoes and would've had the Vitiligo spread all over more evenly; I would've done the same and inspired a lot of others by going on stage and speaking about my struggles but as it stands now in this materialistic world; if you don't stand out from the crowd and are attractive af; you will inevitably not garner the attention that you seek.
A bitter & harsh reality which all of us live with especially those who have patchy Vitiligo; wouldn't wish it over my worst enemy.

My aunts made fun of me and asked my parents to keep heated pan on my skin to burn it .. Even writing this all here makes me cry.. Made me stand in sun continuously for 1-2 hours for almost 6-7 years but my parents were really worried.. They were doing all possible things they could do.. Thanks to my doctor..He said leave your medications otherwise you'd have to face much more than this .. I stopped talking medicines and I swear I forgot even I had vitiligo and started focusing on my personality.. I can only imagine how traumatizing it might have been for her growing up. Even today, I am pretty sure she might feel it sometime. My father had the problem, I have seen it affect him as well. I might develop the condition myself, I just hope I have the same level of confidence as her. She is an inspiration.

I remember all my treatment uv light therapy, tropical ointment and sunbathing. My treatment went on till I was in 9th Grade. I was so over it my white patches under eyes and nose was either changing the pigment nor it was going away so one-day I decided I don't wanna take treatment and told my parents I can't do it anymore I want to leave it alone I stopped taking any treatment and within 6 months it went away. I only got to know in my late 20's now all this time I was misdiagnosed I had pityriasis alba which is very common in brown skin kid's to have. My childhood days was so much suffered had got me traumatized for rest of my life.
